i would make it have a story line and not just one sex scene after another! everyone loves a good romance...as long as there is some story to go along with it.
i would tell them to read it only because of all the hype. i would also tell them that they may be let down.
i read the reviews about how bad she is, but truly, i think it's just a bad book! not becca's fault!
the only kind of film it could be would be a porno. no story, just sex.
I would only because her other books are great and I think this plays an important role.
No, only because I'm not a re-reader. I usually only read books once. But it was a great listen. It could have been longer with more details in many areas...especially their relationship. At the end she touches on them having a child. I would love to hear more about raising a child on a farm.
I enjoyed hearing of how the farm was started from scratch and how much hard work and devotion they put into it. So much so that I bought a share in a local organic farm for the summer!
Her performace was fine but I always prefer when the author reads in a book such as this.
This was very different book. I enjoyed that it was a true story and that there was astory within a story. After I downloaded it a friend told me that her highschool student had to read it in their science classes. That made a little nervouse, but it was just enough science and just enough story. Loved it.
Jodi Picoult books have been suggested to me many times by friends. I have always looked at them and passed them by, none of the story lines grabbed me. But I decided to purchase this anyway. It's written well, it's just not my kind of story. I like an up beat book that can take you away from the troubles of the world. This is hitting too close to home with the recent Colorado shootings. I just quit listening and I'm not sure that I will listen to another Picoult book in the future.
And I really dislike this reader. Second book I've listened to from her...DISLIKE, big time!
Gregg shares many stories of his trip to fame, however his story lacks details that make the reader want more. He jumps through events just to get to the next thing that happened. This could have been much better if he left some things out and elaborated more on others. We all know that being on the road equals loads of life lessons and thrilling events, they may have been mentioned here but with no depth. I was disappointed that Gregg himself did not do the reading, however Will Patton did an amazing job!
after reading this book i had to go back and re-read The Glass Castle all over again. i wish Jeannette had more life stories to tell. well done!
i only purchased this book because it was cheap. not even woth the $5! i couldn't finish listening. too many characters, bad story line and TERRIBLE narration! don't waste your $$$$!
though this book had more of a story to it than the first, it was a very stupid story! maybe a different author writing the book could have made it better??
that is does not live up to the hype...at all!
i did not have a problem with becca.
i expected disappointment after reading the first one. so i got what i expected.
not sure if i'll be getting the third book any time soon.
just an amazing tale of a differnt sort of life. i love to see how other people live and this filled that need and SOOOOO much more! the author has you from page one.
there are so many, the whole book is wonderful! i was anxious to find out WHY it was titled "the glass castle."
though she wasn't the best i've ever heard, i enjoyed that the voice i was hearing was the same person that lived the tale. she grew on me.
though the parents were not always the best to their kids, i felt jeannette still allowed for the listener to feel somewhat connected to them. i just enjoyed this story so much, i couldn't wait to find out how things ended up for them all!
LISTEN TO IT!!
