Guy Montag was a fireman whose job it was to start fires....The system was simple. Everyone understood it. Books were for burning...along with the houses in which they were hidden. Montag enjoyed his job. He had been a fireman for 10 years, and he had never questioned the pleasure of the midnight runs, nor the joy of watching pages consumed by flames...never questioned anything until he met a 17-year-old girl who told him of a past when people were not afraid.

I love the book. Always have but Ray Bradbury should not read. The interview with Ray Bradbury at the end was very interesting but recommend finding a better reader.

Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

After listening to Farheit 451 narrated by the author, I tried to stay away from books read by the author but no one could have done a better job than Blatty. He was perfect. The story will always remain one of the scariest there is.

One of the best stories. Narrator was bad but about half way you get use to his narration. Does not diminish the story line though,
