She is one of the most recognizable women of our time. America knows Jane Fonda as an actress and an activist, a feminist and a wife, a workout guru and a role model. Now, in this extraordinary memoir, Fonda reveals that she is so much more. From her youth among Hollywood's elite and her early film career to the challenges and triumphs of her life today, Jane Fonda reveals intimate details and universal truths.

I hadn't known too much about Jane Fonda before reading this book. I had seen her on Oprah and thought that her story might be interesting since all I knew about her was that there had been controversy during the Vietnam war and of course the workout tapes. It is always amazing when reading biographies at the details people remember - I'm lucky if I can remember what happened yesterday! While she did lead a privileged life, it was not perfect and I enjoyed being a voyeur as she retold her history which has led her to where she is today in her life - truly living her life. Motivates me to do my own inward and reflective work on my journey so far.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

I was hesitant to listen to this book - or at least to commit to all the hours. It took me a few chapters in to get really interested. I felt it had a slow start. But once things kicked in, I didn't want to stop listening! I would sit outside my office just to listen a little bit longer...same thing home in my driveway. Just when you thought you had all the characters figured out, Part 2 rolled around, I was completely unprepared! I have always been able to figure out plots within the first chapter or two - this book was the first exception in a long time. Absolutely great read/listen. I highly recommend!

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

    Story

Once I got past the narrator, I thought the story was ok. I'm in traffic for usually an hour to and from work, and this was a good distraction....It's fiction and takes you away from the ordinary drivel. Most of the time I found myself with a grin on my face. I'm in book 3 now and will miss the story of Christen and Ana when I'm finished.
