"Where's the beef?"
I liked the book, but I didn't find it terribly memorable. It wasn't the classic that I was expecting, but I liked it.
Yes. The story was worth it.
Meeting the fox.
It's too short for a movie.
I liked it but I didn't think it was earth shattering.
"A Hagiography of Garfield"
I am glad I listened to it, but it is almost a youth style book in that Garfield and Bell are too good to be true.
A more realistic portrait of Garfield. He was too good to be true.
A good voice. Very easy to listen to.
Garfield's countenance in face of all that pain.
Some interesting facts. I debated hard on whether to give it 3 or 4 stars, but since I was glad to listen to it, I gave it 4.
"I'm just not a Hemingway fan"
No, I just didn't care for it. It's okay but there are so many good books out there I wouldn't bother with this.
Slouching towards Bethlehem.
Tired, Lacking emotion. As an actor, he has a great voice and is very easy to listen to. But his staccato delivery may be correct for the old man character, but I increasingly found it dull.
No. Just a sad story.
I have tried a few Hemingway books and I'm just not a fan. I always feel like I am missing something. His short choppy sentences distract me.
"An Enjoyable Book"
Yes, I like this meandering story and think others will. I don't think it is as good as Of Mice and Men, though.
Well, Mice and Men comes to mind because of the author. But this is much different - it is more about the characters in a town.
No, but he does a superb job here.
Cannery Row, a collection of characters
Worth reading. I enjoyed. It just kind of ends without a clearcut ending. Reads almost like a few short stories put together.
"Interesting Back Story"
Just an interview about Dickens, not an author per se.
n/a
n/a
No.
This is just the back story about the book from Charles Dickens, not a novel in its own right.
"A Little Dull"
This was just a short interview, not a book.
Told more about himself.
The content was the problem.
Boredom
This review is on the interview, not any book.
"I wanted character analysis not a mini bio."
I was hoping for more information about Rabbit.
This is just a short interview, not a book. I have an Updike book.
More information on the characters.
Too short - just an interview.
"Worth a Quick Listen"
Her background in Mississippi
If you like The Help, I think this is worth hearing.
Her talking about her own maid.
No
"Oh Brother"
A complete rewrite. I thought it was going to be a short story about a messenger in a war who goes to extremes to do his duty. Instead I get some tripe about how employers are mistreated and employees are worthless.
No.
There really aren't characters in this book.
From the beginning to the end.
I can't believe this is one of the bestselling books of all time.
"A Decent Read"
I loved Odd Thomas. I loved Watchers. So I looked for the highest rated Dean Koontz book on Audible. And this is it. So maybe I was just a little disappointed. It's an okay story but I don't think it is as good as the other two.
Better than Forever Odd, but not as good as Watchers or Odd Thomas.
He does a good job of reading the story.
No, the characters covered the full spectrum.
I think my expectations were too high.
"Sophomore Slump?"
I have several books from Dean Koontz and David Aaron Baker, so definitely.
I loved Odd Thomas. Five Stars, well worth getting. This one wasn't. I was actually bored. I barely finished it. I hope the next is better.
He is Odd Thomas. You really feel like he is telling his own story. I didn't like the story, but the narrator was perfect.
Disappointment. I just so loved the first book.
I hope the third book is better!
