I really liked the style of writing. It reflected the 11 year old narrarator without being childish. However, I was left with a sense of incompleteness with this novel. It does not resolve Phillips problems.
Overall, it is not a bad novel. I didn't think it was as funny as I was led to believe it would be, but the content was interesting, until the end. It reminds me of a book from a school required reading list. The kind that you have to sit and discuss the meaning and what the author meant.
This is the story of a man who finds that his dad was a God before he died. Not only is it fun to listen to, but the narrator does the BEST job on the voices.
I love this book. Next to Good Omens, I have to say it is my favorite. I like how the whole concept of a world we see and ignore that has slightly magical edges to it. this is a great adventure.
The first 30 minutes were a little slow, but interesting, but after that I hated putting it down. There was just so much and it all was new. I was actually sad when it ended. This was my first book by Stephenson, I will be readking more.
This book is realistic and entertaining. The story of a young man who winds up working for a circus and people he is not very fond of. the story itself is a good story. It has happy times and great conflicts. BUT the last 2 hours of this book make the story.
Liked it. I thought it was performed well. The story was weird adn funny at the same time.
This is very light reading. I liked the fact that while most of the book was predictable, some important outcomes were not so obvious. It is definitely worth a try.
