  • Cause of Death

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By Patricia Cornwell
    • Narrated By C.J. Critt

On a quiet day, away from the hustle of Richmond, in a small cottage on the Virginia coast, Dr. Kay Scarpetta receives a disturbing phone call from the Chesapeake police. Thirty feet deep in the murky waters of Virginia's Elizabeth River, a scuba diver's body is discovered near the Inactive Naval Shipyard.

Peggy says: "Marcum Welby you are Fired!"
    "Marcum Welby you are Fired!"

Kay is the new and inproved Dr. of the dead. She is way more hands on and fun with all the characters she happens to come in contact with. I liked her spirit and her family and her friends. If I sound as if she is real that is because the story and the reader make it seem so real that you buy into the life the Dr. The story is fresh and not the kind that you guess the plot before you get out the first chapter. I want more books from this author!

James says: "Another Knock At the Door"
    "This one Got Me!"

Thank you Mr. Patterson! It is always a pleasure to read your books but this one it was at the very end that I got the who and the why. I usually can figure out the why or the who just before you comfirm the fact but with this book I was not sure until you told me who and why! I had so much fun with this book that I read it twice. I like all your books but this one was the best so far for me.

A dark and sweeping adventure, Dreamcatcher is set in the haunted city of Derry - the site of Stephen King's It and Insomnia. In it, four young boys stand together and do a brave, good thing, an act that changes them in ways that they hardly understand. A quarter-century later, as grown men who have gone their separate ways, these friends come together once a year to hunt in the woods of Maine.

Mr. King is the master at the strange and familar being a mystery! He has an imagination that is out of this world. I enjoy all his books and this one is a winner too. You want to have fun being scared to death! Read Stephen King!

As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, sort through the bizarre riddle, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci, clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.

    Alexandra says: "Incredibly entertaining"
"Wow! Wow! This is a Winner!"

I got this book because it was on the best sellers list. Wow! I was shocked by the information and the story line but I could not stop listening to this book. It has made some things about faith that I had problems with seem to really be validated. If you are holy roly christian then you should not read this book but if you are aware of your faith and have strong spiritual insight than this is the book you! If you are not sure where you are then start with the basic this is too much information for you. If you are smart you will read this book like you eat chicken. Eat the chicken and leave the bones. It is a good read! I read it six times and keep it on my desktop to play when I work. I really love the book!

  • The Company: A Novel of the CIA

    • UNABRIDGED (41 hrs and 22 mins)
    • By Robert Littell
    • Narrated By Scott Brick

"If Robert Littell didn't invent the American spy novel," says Tom Clancy, "he should have." In this spectacular Cold-War-as-Alice-in-Wonderland epic, Littell, "the American le Carre," takes us down the rabbit hole and into the labyrinthine world of espionage that has been the CIA for the last half-century. "Ostensibly a single novel, The Company can also be listened to as an anthology of cracking good spy stories," says (Publishers Weekly).

Cynthia says: "Hang on to your Hat"
    "Not your everyday spy story"

I read this book and found it long! Then I was bored and read it again when I had the time to really listen and Wow! This is a good book if you like spy stories and information about how the goverment works and the way other countries see and help. Maybe you just want to learn some history. • From Potter's Field

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 7 mins)
    • By Patricia Cornwell
    • Narrated By C.J. Critt

Edgar Award winner Patricia Cornwell is the internationally acclaimed, #1 New York Times best-selling author of the Kay Scarpetta mystery series. From Potter's Field finds criminal pathologist Kay Scarpetta in Central Park investigating the crime scene of a bloody homicide. Kay has an eerie feeling the murder was committed by a maniacal killer from her past, Temple Gault, and that he is trying to force her into one final showdown.

Dammschippee says: "Good in spite of the narrator."
    "Charmed again!"

I was surprised the first time I read this author but did not think it would be as much fun. The first time is special and the joy of the story and the characters is more about you discovering who they are and what is happening. So a follow up book with the same characters is less thrilling. How wrong could my thinking be! I found more about the characters to love and they have evoled and I was lost in the story with friends that were or did change as we went along. Taking me deeper to their lives and given me the reader an adventure and mystery seeming to fell like it was in my life as well as in the book. I read it three times because it was so good and not a re-run bore. Thank you!

Howard says: "You won't be able to stop the player"
    "Loved this book!"

The writer and and the reader make this a great book. I have known bosses like that and found the same thoughts floating around my mind and I was thrilled to have someone carry them out for me. I think all working women should read this book!

To the surprise and dismay of many, ownership was assumed by a 23 year-old college dropout, named Willie Traynor. The future of the paper looked grim until a young mother was brutally raped and murdered by a member of the notorious Padgitt family. Willie Traynor reported all the gruesome details, and his newspaper began to prosper.

    Danielle says: "Grisham's Finest"
"Thank you it was a pleasure!"

Wow this is a fun read. The pace is fast and the action and details fun to hear and think about. I could just see in my mind the town and the people. It was serious and funny at the same time. The reader really sets the listerner up for a surprise. You will not want to stop reading it and I found myself standing in the street lost in the story and what was happening. I want to hear more books like this!
