The narrator's voice is ok and engaging.
Each of the 101 items has a couple of web links at the end. The narrator reads every letter of it. WHY? WHY? Why not just include all of the links in an attached PDF. Example: You can find out XYZ at "h t t p s : / / h o w t o d o X Y Z . c o m / w i k i / 3 4 s g t / s o m e o t h e r s t u f f . h t m l"
Arg. Its driving me crazy.
Think Like a Freak isn't really a proscription about how to think so much as a bunch of stories about Freak-like thinking. It is up to the listener/reader to draw their own conclusions from the story and apply it to their own situation.
Think Like a Freak reminded me a little of "Fooled by Randomness" by Nassim Taleb. The style is very different and it comes at the main point from different directions, but both books do a good job of poking holes in our theory of ourselves and the world around us.
You don't actually have to buy the book. You can get almost all of this by just subscribing to the Freakonomics podcast. I don't think there is really anything new in the book that wasn't in the podcast at some point. The nice part of having the book is that it is all put together. Also, go ahead and buy it if you want to support the authors' work.
The plot is complicated and enjoyable. The narration was above average (it was good, but I don't want to say every narration is good).
There is currently a problem with the audio. There were 6 or 7 instances where the audio would get all fuzzy with static and then come back again in 5 to 10 seconds. I did some checking and the problem was with my file, not the device. This isn't really a problem as you can still hear what's going on, but I was expecting a top-notch performance based on the book and author and getting the static makes it seem slip-shod.
I was recommended this book by a good source and thought it might be good. I couldn't get out of the first chapter because the narrator's voice grated on my nerves.
