Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This was incredibly exciting, well written, well researched, and really made me never want to stop listening. It was just as exciting as Daemon.

When he’s awake, George Bailey is just an ordinary man. Five days a week he coaxes his old Hyundai to life, curses the Los Angeles traffic, and clocks in at his job as a handyman at the local college. But when he sleeps, George dreams of something more. George dreams of flying. He dreams of fighting monsters. He dreams of a man made of pure lightning, an armored robot, a giant in an army uniform, a beautiful woman who moves like a ninja.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ex-Purgatory to be better than the print version?

    I have no idea

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I liked that the main voice actor (Jay Snyder) was kept, but I missed the additional voice actors from the previous books. The multiple voice actors really made the series stand out, and I missed Khristine Hvam, and Mark Boyett. Voices really do make a huge difference.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    no

    Any additional comments?

I'd like audio books to keep all of the same cast if they can, it's very distracting when the voices are different from the previous book, and quite honestly I really loved the way the previous books had multiple voice actors.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I think this book is a really enjoyable sci-fi book, it doesn't start out as strong sci-fi at all, but if you stick with it, it will get there. I loved the modern references and they were all over the place, the only thing that is going to be bad is when all of those references are old and no one knows what they are referring to anymore. It rarely surprised me, but every once in a while something would come out of no where. Overall, I felt it was a fantastic book and hope I can get this much enjoyment out of other books I pick.

I thought it was an enjoyable book, the mystery wasn't all the only thing I really didn't like is the interruptions here and there where one chapter would stop in the middle of something exciting and the next was something completely different, and then it would get back to what you were listening to the chapter before last.
