"Great series. Worth every credit."
The story: The characters are believable and engaging. They are dynamic. The plots are interesting and fast-moving with just enough twists to keep a sharp mind attentive.
The performance: The reader was great. She really brought the characters to life. She made the action scenes and scenes with emotion really shine. I've since gone looking for other things that she reads.
If another installment of this series came available, it would jump to the top of my wish list.
"Excellent Series"
I just wanted to add my review to the multitude of others. I read this book in the Century Trilogy for a book club and was hooked. When Winter of the World was released, I also snapped it up.
I'm not usually a fan of historical fiction and particularly not a fan of the writing style that features multiple unrelated characters that end up being tied together. The fact that I give both the story and the performance 5 stars should tell you exactly how good this book is. I eagerly await the release of the final book and will buy it in audiobook form.
"Riveting Series"

"Way too many details"
Disclaimer: I've only listened to the first 45 minutes of this audiobook. At first, I was thinking, this author is good - the details are very realistic. But the first 45 minutes of the audiobook cover about 3 minutes of the storyline. The author goes too far in detail. After the first 15 minutes I was bored and kept hoping it would pickup. After 45 minutes I couldn't take anymore and shut it off. I may try to listen to it again later and if I do, I'll change my review accordingly.
"Fun and well-read"
The performer was excellent and the story kept me coming back for more. I would recommend this audiobook.
"Classic, but BORING"
I tried to listen to this for a bookclub and just couldn't finish it. The strange names are confusing and I just wasn't drawn back to it like I have other audiobooks.
"Sucks you in"
This story moves well and is entertaining. I would recommend it to a friend. It also sucks you into the series.
"Fun read, but not super."
This is a light and enjoyable read, but not super. I don't regret listening to it, but it wouldn't be my top recommendation.
"Great story, pretty good performance"
Yes. The story was excellent, clearly researched and believable.
The performance was solid, but I've definitely heard better.
