"Typical academic's view"
I pity the student that has to sit through Mr, Bordwell's ramblings. His thoughts and ideas are typical of how an academic thinks the creative process can be understood by using his analytical powers. A non-creative person's take on how the creative process works.
"Interesting"
No.
Although interesting in the beginning chapters, the author descends to subjects that didn't have any appeal to me.
I think the fact that the author reads his own words helped to understand where he was coming from. This also had a negative effect towards the end of the read.
Not for me.
"Not a waste of time"
The author tries way too hard to be "cool". Not a bad read once you get over his too cool language.
Favorite Character is Chon. He's a do-er more than a talker.
The performance was just OK. It didn't seem to fit with the too cool language.
Not really.
I think the movie will be better than the book.
