War and Peace is one of the greatest monuments in world literature. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars, it examines the relationship between the individual and the relentless march of history. Here are the universal themes of love and hate, ambition and despair, youth and age, expressed with a swirling vitality which makes the book as accessible today as it was when it was first published in 1869.

Mark says: "Definitely worth a listen..."
"A statement of life, love and learning..."

War and peace...in history, in relationships, in love, in mariage, in families, in your soul. This is an epic story of each person's quest for meaning and for love and intimacy with God, with man...your neighbour and with the opposite sex. A must to read in your lifetime!

Pride and Prejudice has delighted generations of readers with its unforgettable cast of characters, carefully choreographed plot, and a hugely entertaining view of the world and its absurdities. With the arrival of eligible young men in their neighbourhood, the lives of Mr and Mrs Bennet and their five daughters are turned inside out and upside down.

    Louise says: "excellent reading"
    "Relationships"
    Overall

We can be so enthralled with our own perspective of things that we cannot hear another. Austen's lesson is on learning to open up and recognize that there is somebody else around...not just «me». This is a very relevant book on relationships...and it reflects our society: ego.com.

This is a must...to understand our relationship to Russia, history, people, God, literature...in short to understand our role in life. Tolstoy wrote to understand...and we should listen to understand...I am enriched by the effort!
