  • The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari

    • ABRIDGED (2 hrs and 40 mins)
    • By Robin Sharma
    • Narrated By Robin Sharma

The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is an inspiring parable about a lawyer, Julian Mantle, whose out-of-balance life provokes a spiritual crisis. As he journeys to an ancient culture, he gains powerful and practical wisdom. The story offers a step-by-step approach to a life of balance, courage, abundance, and joy.

    Nicolette says: "Expected more"
    "Thought it was too cliche"
What would have made The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari better?

Though the story makes you realize that the daily mundane things aren't what your life should be about, and that you need to always remind yourself of the important things in life, to me the story was presented in a conventional and maybe not so interesting way.

Would you ever listen to anything by Robin Sharma again?

    Probably not.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

It voided me of patience. The events and the discussions were very predictable, nothing new and engaging.

  • The Hunger Games

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Suzanne Collins
    • Narrated By Carolyn McCormick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Teddy says: "The Book Deserves The Hype"
    "Awesome book !"
If you could sum up The Hunger Games in three words, what would they be?

    Phenomenal Story-Telling!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Hunger Games?

When Katniss volunteered as a tribute.

What about Carolyn McCormick’s performance did you like?

Yes, Carolyn made the reading/listening experience even more fun. She personified the different characters with her voice. Love her accent too.

  • Bossypants

    • UNABRIDGED (5 hrs and 35 mins)
    • By Tina Fey
    • Narrated By Tina Fey

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

Warren says: "Tina Fey broke my new SUV"
"Gotta love Tina Fey but I got bored :("
Would you try another book from Tina Fey and/or Tina Fey?

Tina is great, she has a grea sense of humour and she's super smart! Not a lot of comedians are. I would try another book from her, but I prefer to watch her on TV.

Would you recommend Bossypants to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes, I would. It's a funny and easy to listen to book especially that it's narrated by Tina herself.

Have you listened to any of Tina Fey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I watch 30 Rock, and listening to Bossypants, Tina gives the book a 3rd dimension. I doubt that the normal reading experience could be anywhere close to the fun experience this audiobook provides.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Not really, because it's not a story, it's more of mini stories, snippets from Tina's professional life. It's entertaining to listen to, but I don't see as a hit in a movie frame.
