"In desperate need of an editor"
No
Godchild by Vincent Zandri
none
The narration was top notch. One narrator but used different voices and did it very well.
The story was a good idea but, I don't think there was an editor involved. What the book needed was an editor who could edit like the Marines' cut hair.
By the 30th + chapter I didn't care if they ever got the kids back.
"Lot of noise no story"
This book is for people who like a lot of action and sound effects.
I guess there is a plot line but it's all about the weaponry. I'd like more of a story and less ammo talk. I didn't even finish the book. I don't care if they all die.
Narration was spot on. Great voices.
The best part was the narration.
"Excellent"
Yes, I would highly recommend this book. Enjoyable and very likable characters. Great narration.
When they finally see room 14.
Great job with voice changes. Every character had a very distinct voice.
No but, they were kind to each other.
Very interesting story. Starts off nice and easy but you get that certain feeling that something isn't exactly right.
"WOW so much better than I expected"
Easy read and very interesting.
The historical era and the older vs. younger views. Go from prohibition to moon landing.
Not sure. She did a great job.
Cora, of course.
I thought this book was going to be about just a young girl and her chaperone but, it was so much more. Louise Brooks has always been an interesting figure. Cora is so staright laced and Louise is a total free spirit. Their conflicts were interesting and well written. There is prohibition, adoption, long skirts vs short skirts...to show your ankle or not. Birth control information but, only if you were married. Going to jail if you lived "in sin".
A throughly enjoyable book hated to see it end.
"Disappointed"
More mystery. A great concept, a female Chinese PI. Book started off great and just went down hill.
No, I like the idea of a female Chinese PI
Narrator was good. I enjoyed her.
I don't know it's just a mish mash of characters. Her sister is not likeable.
It's as if the author had a ton of ideas and not enough Adderall. To me, she was all over the place.
"Not my favorite Tana French book"
I would cut about 1/4 of the book out. Tana French had to have been paid by the word. It's a good story but very bloated. on and on and on and on ..... The feeling of suspense is ruined by so much ruminating.
EDIT and then edit some more.
I liked the narrator.
Probably. Any C list Lifetime actor.
Why do good authors go "bad"? I was so excited to start her new book about half way thru I wanted to rip my ears off.
"5 stars until the 1 star ending"
The story was so good until the lame, pathetic, cheap copout, ending.
Probably
I liked how they captured the character of the couple.
I WOULD CUT/CHANGE THE END
Really? Did you run out of creativity when it came to the end?
"WOW"
top 5
The wife and husband. Honest and simple people.
It's difficult to pick one. I cannot picture any other narrators for these characters.
The book left me speechless. It's been awhile since I've read a book I didn't want to end and couldn't wait find out what happened next. If I had read the book I would have read every single word.
The author really sets a mood and I was totally transported. It's not a
All I can say is: read this book.
"Bloated and convoluted"
The story disappointed me. I loved the first book, it was fun, interesting and a great read. This book was not fun or interesting...I finally stopped listening at chapter 34 and clicked on the last one. I didn't even finish the final chapter. Didn't care what happened to any of the characters.
He could have written a better story.
My favorite scene is when I realized this book was never going to get any better and started another book.
The narration was excellent.
Josh, WTF happened?
