Beth Venable has seen too much. Witness to a major mob hit, she's placed in protective custody until the trial. But after her third safe house is riddled with bullets, she goes offgrid to save herself. What the FBI can't do, her kinfolk will. The beautiful but forbidding Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky welcome Beth back, with dirt roads and rustic shacks a world apart from L.A. But her homecoming—even her blissful reunion with strong, silent Ryal Walker—is made bittersweet by the fight she's brought to the clan's doorstep.

    M. Davis says: "Outstanding!!! From start to finish....loved it!!!"

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because it held my interest and had a good plot

What was one of the most memorable moments of Next of Kin?

When family came to her defense against the bad guys in the big fight scene in the mountain

    Which scene was your favorite?

One of them was when she is picked up by the truckers for the first time. I could feel her release at finally going home.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yep

    Any additional comments?

Salad always delivers for me .

Loup Garron was born and raised in Santa Olivia, an isolated, disenfranchised town next to a U.S. military base inside a demilitarized buffer zone between Texas and Mexico. A fugitive "Wolf-Man" who had a love affair with a local woman, Loup's father was one of a group of men genetically manipulated and used by the U.S. government as a weapon. The "Wolf-Men" were engineered to have superhuman strength, speed, sensory capability, stamina, and a total lack of fear.

I did not like this at all. There were too many unfinished issues.

Being called creepy can be hard on your self-esteem - even for an attractive, independent woman like Raine Tallentyre. That's what happened when she made the mistake of revealing her paranormal abilities, bringing her most recent romantic relationship to a hasty end.

Brenda says: "Sizzle is a definite overstatment."

The story had great movement and players. It didn't drag at all. Greatly enjoyed it.
