"Enjoyable, but characters do some duuuumb stuff"
I enjoy this series both because the characters occasionally do smart things AND because they often do very dumb things.
"Fascinating stuff, but a bit boring for an audio"
The information is interesting, but its a bit of a slog to get through. I had a tough time paying attention while driving. Certainly helped me sleep. The voice actor is a bit on the dry side. Reminded me a bit of Alan Greenspan.
"Not bad, but weak in story"
There's not a lot of meat to this book. It was an easy listen and not "bad" but there's not a whole lot to it.
"Loved the first book, disappointed by the second"
The audio performance was just fine, the writing is well done, but I felt that the plot failed me when compared to the first book. Just not as strong.
"Great book, great cast performance"
This was a very good book and having a cast of voice actors reading each section of the book was a good choice. I did not find the time jumps confusing, but I knew they would happen.
"Great book, great performance by Michael York"
York does a great job with some great material. Some of his character delivery could be a bit grating, but I think that was on purpose much of the time.
"Excellent audio book."
I was riveted by this book. Both the performance and the narrative kept me up late.
"Fantastic!"
Exploring a history I thought I knew. I am no scholar, but this was a fascinating exploration of Hitler's rise and fall.
History
The narrator's pronunciation of German names and locations surely outstrips what my limited German vocabulary could match.
Hitler was a spectacular liar. I nearly had to skip the Holocaust chapters (but don't).
Great book, narrated spectacularly.
"Meh"
The performance is good, but the story put the "meh" back into "mediocre."

"Good, but not as good as the first one"
The performance was great, the economics are suitably freaky, but I like the first book better. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one. If you have not read/listened to the first one, start there.
