"I Cannot Get Enough"
I am truly a CS Lewis fan. I loved the rendering of Prince Caspian. Can't wait to begin the Silver Chair.
"Loved It!! CS Never Gets Old"
I was very excited that the Magician's Nephew, was so fresh and exciting to me. I am switching the order of my reading, so that they are chronological in story telling. At the very end, I knew that I would soon listen to The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
I am in love in Kenneth Branagh. I also thought it was fun that an Irishman was reading a fellow Irishmen's work. I think his rendition of the Diggery's uncle was funny and I thought his witch was... well I wanted to smack her. Her was very good.
I am totally enamored as to how CS could write such wonderful fantasy and make it line up with Christian Scripture. I have learned a lot about scripture through his writings.
"Intensive and Introspective"
I enjoyed the characterizations. I have attempted to read Flannery O'Conner and I have to say it can be tough. However, when it is dramatized, I get a better understanding. I don't hear everything in my voice, but a multitude of characters. The stories are very dark and foreboding but will keep you listening until the end.
As stated earlier, the characterization make these stories so interesting. Each narrator placed their own spin on the characters and made them come to life. Without their characterization, reading independently would have been tough and I probably would not have finished it. As a matter of fact, I purchased the audio version of Wise Blood because I could not get through the novel.
My only word of caution is the
"History, that is more like history than television"
Telling the truth about three of the most ruthless monarch's of England. I watched the romanticism of the HBO series The Tudors and knew that their telling of the story of Henry could not be correct. Quite frankly not even realistic. So, I saw this in the book store and wanted to get another point of view. I am glad I did. This seems much more true to what the monarchy of England, at that time was like.
I, Claudis. I would compare because of the nature of their unrelenting power, that only stopped in their deaths.
No real character favorite. He made them all come alive.
