"Try it!"
Fun. Well written. I think you'll really like this selection.
"charming, sweet, funny- need more like it"
charming. love the time period. Sweet and funny without being sappy. I wish there were more books out there like this one.
loved all the characters. I really hope the author decides to expand on this story line and develop all of these characters to their full potential.
Great choice of narrator
Charming. Some truly memorable lines. Great dialogue. Can't wait for the next one.
"if you loved the others, you'll love this one"
I was reluctant to purchase this one after reading the reviews. But I personally thought this one showed more imagination than the last 2. Yes, I've read all 9. And I'll probably keep listening to them as long as Mary Janice wants to write them. Escapism.
"Wanted: Narrator"
This book HAS to be read again. The accents, inflections made for a painful experience. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing.
"laugh out loud funny"
Try it- I think you'll love it.
"Give it a try!"
I don't think you'll be disappointed. Very well written. This is not your average "inspirational" offering.
"I wonder if Ms. Heyer had"
just finished reading an Edith Wharton novel when she decided to write this book. Am I the only one who sees any similarities in style and outlook? This book obliterates the romantic ideal of first love and arranged marriages! Try it. I thought that it was well worth the $$.
"This book starts out great-"
cool setting, interesting character development. But if you think that a single, pregnant, unemployed woman should put her baby's needs before her own need for "passion" and ... I couldn't even figure out what this character felt she needed... then you'll only be frustrated by the glorification of irrational, irresponsible behavior.
"Fab!!!!!!!!!!!"
It doesn't get any better than "Phone calls from Jewish mothers." Please keep in mind that this is a book written by Jews for Jews, and some segments may offend extremely devout born-again Christians. This Christian, however, loved it and hopes to someday get a chance to see the Broadway show. (Skip through the truly infantile chapter regarding human excrement- proof that Brian and Sam didn't let their mothers read the first draft before sending it off to the publisher. The rest of the book is great.)
"They need to re-write this"
book description. I detest "Sex in the City," but I love this series. For the longest time, I stayed away from this series because I'm not a big fan of blood and gore and Ann Rice's vampires, but these books are fun. Well worth the $$$.
