On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Just started listening to the book - I have not had any trouble with the narrator but I do take issue with Mr. King. Even though I do not consider this the proper forum I have to ask these questions. Why does he have such disdain towards Christians? Why do we tolerant this type of disdain? Isn't this bigotry? Mr. King your job is to entertain not to indoctrinate with your belief system. Unlike you sir, I have an open mind and I will finish your book because if I overlook the bigortry it is an interesting book and I am willing to see where this story is going.

This is an excellent audible book a real thriller and not in a gross way. The reader is terrific and draws you into the story. I bought it because I had seen the movie with Will Smith but as always the book is so different then the movie - the book is better then the movie. Love it!

Once again Michael Crichton gives us his trademark combination of page-turning suspense, cutting-edge technology, and extraordinary research. State of Fear is a superb blend of edge-of-your-seat suspense and thought provoking commentary on how information is manipulated in the modern world.

Jaws is the classic, blockbuster thriller that inspired the three-time Academy Award-winning Steven Spielberg movie and made millions of beachgoers afraid to go into the water. Experience the thrill of helpless horror again - or for the first time! Jaws was #48 in the American Film Institute's 100 Years...100 Movies, and the film earned the coveted #1 spot on the Bravo network's 100 Scariest Movie Moments countdown.

First read the book when it came out and read it more then once - great summertime read. At the time I was a young mom of three and vowed that my little ones would never swim in the ocean, of course, that vow was broken many times over. Decided that it would be a great summertime Audible book and I was right - love it - it is like visiting with an old friend - bringing back good memories. Also Erik does a great job.

When a wealthy man first meets his mail-order bride in 1907, he realizes this statuesque beauty is anything but a "simple missionary's daughter." But he doesn't know of her devious plan to leave Wisconsin as a rich widow. Nor does she know of the furious demons he longs to unleash during the lonely months of snowbound isolation.

I thought this was a beautiful book. It was a mystery - and it did in did dig deep into the characters past, present and maybe future. It was the old story good versus evil that live within us all. It was a story of forgiveness - of others an of oneself. The words were musical and the narrator's cadence was perfect. I could not stop listening to it. It gets an A from me - it has been a long time since I have heard such a good book.

This is a great book and a wonderful read. At first I did not think I was going to like the book but once I started to listen to the reader the more she drew me into the story. I haven't finished the book as of yet but like any good book I just can not get enough of it.
