The undead are more alive today than ever. Immortal? Indeed! Nothing has sunk its teeth into 21st century popular culture as pervasively as the vampire. The fangsters have the freedom to fly across all genres and all mediums - there''s even apps for vamps. Whether roaming into romance, haunting horror, sneaking into science fiction, capering into humor, meandering through mystery - no icon is more versatile than the vampire.

Would you try another book from the authors and/or the narrators?

The reason I bought this book was to sample a wider group of authors. I did enjoy a few of the stories but most of those were by authors I already know and enjoy. I was disappointed.

What was most disappointing about the authors’s story?

Several of the short stories seem unfinished. Some seem to be sketchy outlines with little content while others just end as if the author gave up in the middle.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration was not the issue with this book.

Was Vampires worth the listening time?

This is a long book, 19 or 20 hours. So it is a big investment of time. I would have to say that the few good, well written stories do not make up for the rest of it.

Behind the seemingly innocuous façade of St Mary's, a different kind of historical research is taking place. They don't do 'time-travel' - they 'investigate major historical events in contemporary time'. Maintaining the appearance of harmless eccentrics is not always within their power - especially given their propensity for causing loud explosions when things get too quiet. Meet the disaster-magnets of St Mary's Institute of Historical Research as they ricochet around History.

I most often read Historical Fiction and Urban Fantasy but this book sounded interesting so I took a chance. I really enjoyed it. It was fast paced and light. I would have liked a bit more world building but over all I found the story and characters engaging. I hope the next book will focus a bit more on the time travel missions now that the politics have been explained.

Vampire and thief Raylene Pendle doesn’t need more complications in her life. Her Seattle home is already overrun by a band of misfits, including Ian Stott, a blind vampire, and Adrian deJesus, an ex–Navy SEAL/drag queen. But Raylene still can’t resist an old pal’s request: seek out and steal a bizarre set of artifacts. Also on the hunt is a brilliant but certifiably crazy sorceress determined to stomp anyone who gets in her way.

I read the first book in this series a while ago and enjoyed it. Hellbent is a good listen also.
It has a lot of action and humor. There was a hint of romance in the first book and I was hoping the author would give us a little more in this one. Alas, just more hints, but I still think the book is very credit worthy.

This book is so similar to the first book in the series that I feel the author should be ashamed. The bedroom dialog is almost identical. I did not even finish the book, there seemed no point. I know it got a lot of good reviews but if you are looking for an interesting story don't buy this book. The author seems to have a formula and she is sticking to it.

I can't give this book a fair review because the narrator just set my teeth on edge. I found his female characters especially awful. I just couldn't get into the story. It may just be me, but I suggest listening to the sample before you buy.

I think the author could have spent a bit more time and effort explaining how and why Meg was so quickly and completely accepted by the others. also, while the narration was competent a stronger voice would have made it better for me.

I love this series. I do not enjoy books that are basically bodice rippers with a vampire or wolf in place of the pirate or viscount. Jane Yellowrock's world has grit, humor and depth. This series has held my attention from book 1. Even if you don't normally read fantasy or paranormal books, if you like action and adventure with a little steam from time to time I bet you will like this series. Only one negative, the long wait for book 8 has just begun for me.

Working at a Suicide Prevention Center in San Francisco, Lily Goodwill thinks she's heard it all - then she gets a call from a man about to jump off the Golden Gate Bridge. Something about the caller, maybe his yummy British accent or Lily's ability to understand his crushing ennui, makes her break all the rules and rush to meet him. After all, she is a vampire and if she can't talk him down she can glamour him. But things don't go according to plan.

This book was a disappointment for me. It got some good reviews so I took a chance. The author seems to have some talent but I found this tedious. A vampire who calls his reluctant lover Ma Petite, now why does that sound familiar? The thing that I just could not take was Lily's endless drivel about her two love interests. I get it, they are both gorgeous, they both kiss well and she can't make up her mind between them. This constant prattle takes up most of the book. I found the outlines of the characters interesting but they were never developed. When Lily does make up her mind, no real reason is given. No grit and no real humor. My advise, save your credit and wait for the next Faith Hunter or Molly Harper book.

Twenty-year-old Amanda Derrington is on an extended cruise with her uncle when she decides to make a short trip to the sun-washed island of Cyprus. But even before the ship arrives in the port, there is a suspicious death. Once the passengers reach the island, it soon becomes clear that the death was in fact an act of murder. What Amanda had meant to be a pleasant excursion quickly takes a turn for the worse in this classic novel of suspense and romance by one of our most celebrated writers.

What a great summer read. I love a book that takes me away to an exotic location and another time. What makes this book great is how well it is written. It is romantic and suspenseful without being cheesy. This book is well narrated. The voice fits the book. Audible has several other M.M. Kaye novels available but sadly the narration choices are poor on several of them. It's a real disappointment. The wrong choice of narrator really ruins a book for me. So if you enjoy this book and want to try another in the "death" series, I recommend listening to the sample first.

Generations of werewolves have been secretly residing in a secluded valley a stones throw from Grundy, Alaska. So when a snooping Outsider comes to Grundy to investigate rumors of lycanthropic shenanigans in the area, the valleys pack alpha, Maggie Graham, resolves to chase him away, even if doing so takes a quick bite on the butt. What a pity that researcher Nick Thatcher turns out to be so drool-worthy, and that his kisses make Maggie want to sit up and beg.

If you could sum up The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf in three words, what would they be?

    repetitious, funny and ok

Would you recommend The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf to your friends? Why or why not?

I Love Molly Harper. I have most of her books. This is the first one that left me a bit underwhelmed. It is not a bad book. I enjoyed it, but it seems too similar in plot to her last werewolf book to me. So this would not be the first book on my recommendation list, and I do highly recommend Molly Harper to my friends.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Amanda Ronconi is the best. I always enjoy her performance.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Of course I laughed, Molly Harper is funny!
