In Dixie Divas, Trinket Truevine, her pal Bitty and their raucous diva friends in the historic small town of Holly Springs, Mississippi, solved the murder of Bitty's ex-senator husband, Phillip. Now, in Drop Dead Divas, the Divas are sleuthing again. Town bad girl Naomi Spencer has been accused of murdering her fiancé, drag-race champion Race Champion. Soon, Naomi turns up dead, too. Talk about a fly in the martini... Join the bawdy fun as Trinket, Bitty and the gang unravel another small-town mystery.

    Story

The Southern belles are at it again and it's just plain fun. The story is involved enough to keep you interested and guessing but the real treat is the characters and the narrator's accents. Listening to the trouble Trinket and Bitty get into is a little like watching Lucy and Ethel. This is another highly enjoyable listen. The quality of this story and narration means I will be enjoying this tale time and time again.

Dixie Cash novels score critical accolades while slaying readers with witty mysteries starring the Domestic Equalizers, aka Debbie Sue Overstreet and her best friend, Edwina. In this down-home whodunit, the gals from Salt Lick, Texas, wrangle with a mystery involving a bull-riding "champeen" and an Internet stalker.

Would you listen to I Gave You My Heart, But You Sold It Online again? Why?

I would listen to "I Gave You My Heart, But You Sold It Online" again, perhaps several agains. The story and the reader are both great. I don't think the story would be as fun to read as it is to hear. The combination of story and accents is excellent.

Who was your favorite character and why?

As always, I can choose between the two main characters. Debbie Sue and Edwina are my favourite two characters of this story. Regardless of who is added to the mix, they win hands down.

Which character – as performed by Peggity Price – was your favorite?

Debbie Sue and Edwina, as performed by Peggity Price, are my favourites in the audible version of the book; she just makes them seem like such fun. There are times when you just have to smile and them laugh out loud. I think it would be great to actually know people like Debbie Sue and Edwina, though they would be quite a challenge.

    Any additional comments?

This whole series is just plain fun. I can't wait until the last two stories are available in audio.

On one of the city's hottest nights, New York Police Lieutenant Eve Dallas is sent to Central Park - and into a hellish new investigation. The victim is found on the rocks, just above the still, dark water of The Lake in the park. Around her neck is a single red ribbon. Her hands are posed, as if in prayer. But it is the eyes - removed with such precision, as if done by the careful hand of a surgeon - that have Dallas most alarmed.

Would you consider the audio edition of Visions in Death to be better than the print version?

I think the audio book and print book are equalling great. This is one of the best books in the In Death series, in the top 5 of the series. But I always enjoy listening to Susan Ericksen's reading of these books.

What other book might you compare Visions in Death to and why?

Ignoring the futuristic setting, the book reminds me some of the Women's Murder Club series with the relationships between the friends as a backdrop to murder.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've have listened to several of Susan Ericksen's performances and I thoroughly enjoy her reading with the various accents and inflections. This book is no exception, with the added advantage that this story is one of the better ones.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I can imagine listening to this book in one sitting but I doubt I will ever have the luxury of such time.

    Any additional comments?

I enjoy the JD Robb's In Death books and part of the reason is my enjoyment of Susan Ericksen's performance.

Eve Dallas is a New York police lieutenant hunting for a ruthless killer. In over 10 years on the force, she's seen it all - and knows that her survival depends on her instincts. And she's going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire - and suspect in Eve's murder investigation. But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it's up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about - except the addictive hunger of needing his touch.

Would you consider the audio edition of Naked in Death to be better than the print version?

I liked the audio version as much as the print version. The reader is great, very nice voice and inflection.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Favourite character - Eve Dallas

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and no - it's too long for a single listen but it would be enjoyable to listen that way.
