On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me—well, actually, my true love, Darcy O’Mara, is spending a feliz navidad tramping around South America. Meanwhile, Mummy is holed up in a tiny village called Tiddleton-under-Lovey with that droll Noel Coward! And I’m snowed in at Castle Rannoch with my bumbling brother, Binky, and sourpuss sister-in-law, Fig.

Where does The Twelve Clues of Christmas rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

At the top of the list, it has a light quick pace and was a perfect Christmas gift from Rhys Bowen and perfectly delivered by Katherine Kellgren.

What did you like best about this story?

The story...the characters who I view by now as "old friends"...with a few new friends sprinkled in to complete the Olde English Christmas...left me with a satisfied smile on my face and a warm holiday feeling in my heart.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Gosh beginning...middle...end it was all clever and enjoyable.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

"Come back to an era gone by and experience the charm and warmth of An Olde English Christmas!"

    Any additional comments?

I found this series thanks to Audible...when they offered the first Her Royal Spyness for free...and from that moment on I was Hooked!! I've listened to every book in the series with delight...it is a perfect blend of easy listening to a good storyline delivered with perfection by Katherine Kellgren who breathes life into the characters and keeps pace with the author's humor and style...a perfect pair! Thanks Audible for bringing such wonderful stories to the listners. From a satisfied, and happy Fan.

This is your life Penny Nichols...Penny Nichols is a historical researcher working on a big-budget film in the south of France when she gets an urgent call. Her Aunt Penelope has just died, and Penny's presence is required in London for the reading of the will. With only a slim recollection of her eccentric aunt, Penny is astonished to learn that not only is she the bona fide heiress - but she's also been invited to put her research skills to work.

    Story
What made the experience of listening to A Rather Lovely Inheritance the most enjoyable?

Katherine Kellgren as narrator...she is probably my most favorite when I want a light and breezy story to listen to over breakfast each morning. The story was interesting, lively with just the right mixture of suspence and humor delivered with precision by Katherine Kellgren.

I had never read, nor listened to C. A. Belmond before so I had no basis for comparison with this author, but was certain that it would be good because I so enjoy the narrator.

What other book might you compare A Rather Lovely Inheritance to and why?

This story has the same lightness and appeal as Her Royal Spyness series by Rhys Bowen and the same narrator which was great for me since I've exhausted that series and was searching for a similar adventure.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I liked the entire storyline but I guess my favorite scene was when Penelope found herself in London for the reading of her great aunt Penelope's will and once again reunited with her "cousin" Jeremy whom she had known and played with as a child on a visit to her mother's family in London for a summer.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

LOL...ALL of the audible books that I have listened to have that quality! But I try and pace myself to listen to only a chapter or two each morning, although I confess that I did listen to several chapters at one sitting during the more exciting middle of the story.

    Any additional comments?

I throughly enjoyed listening to this presentation and I hope that C. A. Belmond and Katherine Kellgren team up again...and soon. I've listened to a wide variety of stories with my "breakfast" and have never been disappointed by audible, nor Katherine Kellgren's delivery she has the ability to transport you to whatever she is reading with different voices for each character and an ease of confidence that brings the listener the same "lost in the story" that I get when I read a good book, or watch a good show.

The Queen of England has concocted a plan in which penniless aristocrat Lady Georgie is to entertain a Bavarian princess and conveniently place her in the playboy prince's path, in the hopes that he might finally marry.

But queens never take money into account. Georgie has very little, which is why she moonlights as a maid-in-disguise.

What did you love best about A Royal Pain?

The story is a wonderful blend of humor, romance and a few nice twists and turns. Katherine Kellgren is an excellent narriator with different inflections and accents for each of the characters. Very believable in every aspect.

What did you like best about this story?

The storyline itself I think was my most favorite thing. It is set in the 30's with all that entails. Soup lines, the war all blend into a wonderful backdrop against which you have Lady Gereogiana, young, innocent and trying to become a

    Which scene was your favorite?

It was hard to pick a particular scene, the story moves along very nicely and each scene keeps pace with the one before and after.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud several times with things that are protrayed in this time period...it is a very light and breezy story and with the excellent reading of Katherine Kellgren I had a wonderful time each morning as I listened to the story over breakfast.

    Any additional comments?

This story may not be everyone's cup of tea...so to speak...but for me it was a nice break from some of the more intense book that I read...such as The Hunger Games Series which I had just finished when I chose the first book in this Series Her Royal Spyness which Audible was kind enough to offer it's members free. I got me hooked and I've ordered the entire series since.
