Hey there! I am a Fantasy/Sci-Fi nut. I also enjoy a good zombie novel or thriller now and then. My likes tend towards Young adult novels as I find most of the "adult" Fantasy novels to be uppity for lack of a better word. Follow me if you like the same as I intend to go back and review every book I had listened to on this site and will keep doing so.

Jane Yellowrock is the last of her kind-a skinwalker of Cherokee descent who can turn into any creature she desires and hunts vampires for a living. But now she's been hired by Katherine Fontaneau, one of the oldest vampires in New Orleans and the madam of Katie's Ladies, to hunt a powerful rogue vampire who's killing other vamps.

Faith Hunter introduces a whole new world with Skinwalker. A world of Vampires, Witches, and Magic based in today's time.

The story is simple, Jane is a Skinwalker with a twist. She hires herself out to slay Vampires who have gone "rogue". However that is not what made the story so good. It was the many twists and turns I cant reveal.

I look forward to reading more books as you only got a tease of what the rest of the world was like in this one but I look forward to spending more time with Jane Yellowrock and hope to have more questions answered both about her, and about the world she lives in!

Danny North knew from early childhood that his family was different - and that he was different from them. While his cousins were learning how to create the things that commoners called fairies, ghosts, golems, trolls, werewolves, and other such miracles that were the heritage of the North family, Danny worried that he would never show a talent, never form an "outself"....

The Lost Gate has been in my wishlist for a while now, and i finally decided to download it, and wish I had not waited so long. The book is at times very funny when it decides to be and very dead serious at other times.

The spin given to the Ancient gods (Both Greek and Norse) is really inspired and new, though I would expect nothing less from Orson Scott Card.

The simply review of it is that Danny has a forbidden form of magic, when he thought he had none at all, he is then at the age of 12 thrust from his home on a farm he was never supposed to leave, right into washington D.C.

The only issue I had is the person reading the book did not do a great job of acting out the different voices, many people sounded enough alike that if i was not paying attention I got them mixed up a couple times.

In the end I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys fantasy, even more so to those that enjoy Urban Fantasy such as the Dresden Files, or the Druid Chronicles.

Redemption isn't a word Jim Heron knows much about - his specialty is revenge, and to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charged with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins. Vin diPietro long ago sold his soul to his business, and he's good with that - until fate intervenes in the form of a tough-talking Harley-riding, self-professed savior.

The end begins with a viral outbreak unlike anything mankind has ever encountered before. The infected are subject to delirium, fever, a dramatic increase in violent behavior, and a one-hundred percent mortality rate. Death. But it doesn't end there. The victims return from death to walk the earth. When a massive military operation fails to contain the plague of the living dead it escalates into a global pandemic.

I was not expecting much when I got this book, however it was part of a sale and came with a book I did want. Boy was I in for a shock, it was worse than I thought was possible. It is your average every day zombie book.

It uses every cliche ever seen in every other book or movie about zombies and introduces nothing new. All of the Characters seem shallow and underdeveloped. If you have ever read any other zombie novel then you have already read this one.

I will say however that at least Oliver Wyman did his best while reading the book to try and give it some feeling, and if not for him I would have given this book a flat 1 star rating. I have to advise against you picking this book up.

After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

First I want to say to I was overjoyed to hear James Masters voice. He IS Dresden, when it comes to the voice. This book starts to answer so many questions we have had for so long, while asking so many more.

The action in this book never lets up, and Harry's wit is as razor sharp as always. This book is the rebuilding of the harry we knew. It starts the recovery from changes while still showing us how much Harry has grown.

I cant wait for the next book in this series! I can honestly say if you skipped the last book due to John Glover, You can walk right back in and its as if the 13th book was a side note.

Druid Atticus O’Sullivan hasn’t stayed alive for more than two millennia without a fair bit of Celtic cunning. So when vengeful thunder gods come Norse by Southwest looking for payback, Atticus, with a little help from the Navajo trickster god Coyote, lets them think that they’ve chopped up his body in the Arizona desert. But the mischievous Coyote is not above a little sleight of paw, and Atticus soon finds that he’s been duped into battling bloodthirsty desert shape-shifters called skinwalkers.

I adored the first 3 books in this series and could not wait to get my hands on this one. However to much is missing that made the other books what they where, the chance of place, people, and items was a big change. Sadly there was nothing to replace them really, so in the end, the book is worth a read if you are already a fan of the series, otherwise go back to the start and read the first 3 books.

This is my personal favorite book of all time. I love the way piers mixes magic and science, His outlook of hell and heaven, and Zane. The book is both fun and light as well as addressing some very intense topics.

I first read this book as a child in the 80's and have since read it once a year. Sadly the later book in the series are not as good however still worth reading.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

I listen to about 2 full audio books a week. I am very picky and usually get a good read, however I always do something else while I listen. This book had me hooked so hard that for the last 2 hours I simply put my laptop down and listened.

Wil Wheaton does an amazing job of bringing each person to life, he does not over act as is sometimes the case these days, however nor does he read with the monotone that is sadly common place these days.

The real meat however is the story, to sum it up very short and sweet the world is crashing and most people live in Virtual reality. The maker left a way for someone to earn total control of this reality as well as his vast wealth after he died. The book centers around a group of people and their chase for this reward.

What really makes this book so great is the fact that you truly fall in love and in hate with the right people. If you like the 80's, video games, nerds, or even a love story this book is for you. I honestly cant imagine anyone not liking it unless you simply cant stand computers.

I tried to put into words how great this book was but the only way you will understand is by giving it a listen yourself. I hope you have as wonderful of a ride as I did. I only wish there was more!

I started this, first the first bit I thought it was a forward. Then I realized that they had someone else reading the book.I am a huge audio book fan but I normally do not pay attention to whom is reading it to me, until this.

This man just is not Dresden. It sounds dull, lifeless. Its so bad that I am going to go back, listen to the other 12 and pray that James comes back. Come on audible, Get a special version from James or something.

John Glover would have been great reading a old west story or something of the like, but he just is not right for this.

I have listened to every book in this series and sadly this one was the worst. As the wizards grow older the books have become less fun and more serious, and with them growing weaker some of the fun and glamor is gone.

This book also lacks much of the interaction between the great people introduced in the books before. All those wonderful aliens made up for the weakened magic in the past, this time they just fall short.

I truly hope that any books in the future will change things around a bit. It may be time we stop spending so much time with kit......
