How Tina can make you smile, or laugh but not turn you off with expletives, or putting people down. She talks about her life, some of the shiny moments, and those that happened, but she never let them keep her down. Its definately a good book to enjoy.. you can read a chapter, and return to it in a week, and not be upset that you forgot something from before. A great audio book for a road trip with spouse, or we found with our teenage kids.
There were many, but think the point where she was so exhausted filming "30 Rock," planning her daughters birthday party, and filming SNL... and Oprah asks her if she's spread herself a tad to slim.. its great.. we all do things like that.Or where she lets some people unmentioned that have jars of urine in there offices!
DUH- No brainer- Sarah Palin!
15 minutes of fame that people won't forget.
I never realized how she had been a writer for SNL, long before Lorne Michael put her in front of the camera, and how her career took off with the comedy team of her and Amy Poeller and doing politics (Sarah Palin). And of course how much 30 Rock was enjoyed by millions.
The later books in the series get better. There is more details thrown in about the characters lives, the material is black as some say, but the books are pageturners, or the audible recordings make you want to continue to listen.
Just the repore amongst the characters, Will Trent is a very likable, yet different kind of detective.
Yes... but as recommended to me; start out reading or listening to "Undone" and "Broken" first!
I am loving the Grant County/ Will Trent series!
I think that it was so so... It could have been better.. the story dragged on in the final third.
It had me at my most in the beginning- and taking the artifacts to the museum.
It needed more counter plot - the final third of the book drudged on.. the only spark was the hint that one of the biochemist was synthetizing a new plant form.. and that could spark more monsters.
Sorry- nobody outstanding.. Dr. Margo Green? maybe.
Uh- daah... how old is this website? Who is running this ? Movie was made back in 1997!
IMDB gave it5.6 stars out of 10.. starring Penelepe A Miller and Tom Sizemore..
This is 2014!!! tsk tsk.
The characters have engaging personalities in which you want to read on, not just about the case, but to find out what happens next in their lives. Its true, written by others.. read these in order... and these books are ones you can't put down.. or want to keep listening to.. you get hooked and want to devour what happens next. Very well written.. very well narrated.. I like Shannon Cochran's voices of characters , and their personalities.
Dr. Sara Linton and Will Trent attraction to each other. I also enjoy how the author shows both their points of view in the story solving the case, along with Faith Mitchell.
S Cochran has a passionate way of becoming the characters, and you follow along in the story, whereas , her voice never gets on your nerve. She does an excellent job.
This book made me smile by the touching way that Sara went after Will. She finally caught on, his sad life, his miserable marriage... Meanwhile, the other characters like Faith, and Amanda were rooting for Will.. they knew what was going on.. before he even did.
Not only a good book but a great series. I have recommended them to my brother, and to my friends who like cop/suspense books. I was hooked after reading Unseen, and Broken. They are hard to put down and are to be enjoyed. I am so happy I found them. I encourage people who like detective novels, to join in and enjoy.
A good series.. good characters, strong audio narration and good tie in ending.
I had purchased Broken, and had read reviewers who had suggested reading Undone first as a tie in. I am very happy I did. Very good.
Finding out who the bad guy was near the end.. a bonus, where you sometimes guess it and have to wade thru chapters before the main characters find out. Enjoyed the multi-dimension personalities of the characters who keep you reading or listening.
Very graphic in describing the disgusting treatment of the women abducted. If your faint of heart, or bothered by this, then don't read it.
I love the audio- can't compare to print. But will say it just draws you in, and you cant stop. Long too.. so good value for the money.. you get your money's worth!!!
This was sci-fi, time travel, but A Prayer for Owen Meany, by John Irving, where the story draws you in.. and you can't stop listening, or reading, where you can't wait to find out what happens next. The story is incredible with rich discriptions of the past, and identify with the charactors actions and reactions.
The dialect, inflection, the action, the love between the two characters.. the feeling-when they dance... wow.
George's (Jake) love for Sadie, and the connection between the two. The memories of the past- wow- of being a little one, and remembering the Woolworths, the parking meters, the drive inns, the little changes we take for granted today.. it was fun reliving the past when I could relate, to the political environment that I lived thru, my parents, the impact of Kennedy's death, and the reactions by my own parents.. I lived thru it.. and later much more with Bobby Kennedy. Sure makes you think.. what if?
Just Read It! Its not a scare your pants off Stephen King... its the edge of sci-fi with time travel.. but along for the ride.. what a journey.. wow.
Well done story arc, good characters. However, there are a lot of frustrating errors.. No proofreaders available? Even listening to the audio, there are grammatical mistakes. Was the author saving money? It shows.
The set up for the main character owning a dog was a waste. Less buildup, and add more chapters to Lee doing his mission.
Capt. Lee and Jack.
Why waste my time answering this? (for a book review) It's being filmed in Wimingotn, N.C.We are seeing proof of how huge the internet is, with a book going from digital media, and then to movie rights to be on the big screen.
It follows the standard zombie apocalypse genre. I have read or listened to a dozen books. I give the narrator a high rating, he's very good to listen to. The story is very sound and well done descriptively by the author. I am disappointed that the book was short in length (8 hrs), and would have liked it doubled for the price.I don't want to own a trilogy of books for $50 that could end up as a $3.95 bargain day buy in a year.
I will wait till reviews come out for it,or it goes on sale. I know that the second half is coming, but if it covers mostly what has already been fleshed out in the comics, it feels like , been there, done that just like part one.(this one)
Further development of Woodbury, with Lily and the Gov , but disappointed in that they covered mostly Michonne's retribution to the Gov.... and least to Rick and Glenn.
Yes, but fell short of my expectations, the novel could have been longer and gave more chapters describing the people of the prison, the closeness to Woodbury, and tension building.
The narrators' inflection on the charactors, the engaging investigation, and the progress of the story was very good. Loved the repore between scott, maggie, and the officer lady at the end.
Yes, it kept building up tempo right after the charactors were introduced in the beginning, and you wanted to just keep reading, or listening. You wanted to see Scott make it, and you wanted to see Maggie make it, all the while there were so many obstacles.
Scott, & Maggie, followed by his K9 Superior, who was tough as nails, but just all bark and no bite!
I didn't cry, but came close as I had a lump in my throat a couple times. I am a GerShep lover for all my life, my folks have always had a Shepherd, and then I have had 2 since being married. Wonderful, smart dogs!
One heck of a good book.. I would love to read more like this one! If you don't beleive me, read some reviews and judge for yourself. You won't feel bad for spending the money, its a good one.. and I look forward to listening to the audiobook a year from now.
Right near the top.. it touches you, and causes you to think about how people deal with cancer day in and day out, and how maddening , frustrating and bewildering it can be.
I think when Hazel Grace and "gus"- August went to see the author, left and went to see the hiding place of Anne Frank. I really smiled when Hazel read the facebook page when she saw all the posts, sympathizing, and wishing well, etc... and not giving away any thing.. but just how that fits in the world.. how people act like they are right there, yet they havn't been around for ? year or years, and they are just trying to make themselves feel better, but only make the griever feel worse.I loved this book.
Hazel, and the author to her fav. book,Peter van Houghton, an important part to the story later on.. and the connection between Hazel and Gus, and the parents.
Yes, I grabbed my Kindle every chance I got to continue with it.. it was that good.
Yes, there is sadness, but it causes you to come into touch with our own mortality, and others around us. It was a very good book. I wish they would make it into a movie. I want to re-listen to it again. It was worth every cent , and woudn't hesitate to tell others that should read it.
