Yes, definately if the reviews were good, and it was narratted by Marguerite Gavin. I love her narration. I am starting to become disapointed after reading this book and not sure if I am going to get another of the hollows series. I am ready to read some other books. I definately agreed with many reviewers who recommended the first three.. I feel they are terrific and great of this series.

She could have included more of Kisten, demon Al, and writing off Nick was apparently evident. Nick started the series as an extremely nice guy, then off he leaves in the last book, and in this one, he becomes a real jerk. I did enjoy the partnership of Rachel and Jenks, even if she oogled him a bit too much. Also, the weres didn't make it for me along the plot. It becomes apparent that Kim wants Rachel's character to have more enchanting loves in her life, or open the door for Kisten or Ivy in her love triangle.

I love her connection with all the charactors, and thier personalities. I say that I cringed everytime when she read "MackinacK", not MackinaW several times in the book.

Perhaps, especially being a Michigan native, and visiting Mackinaw every summer, this could be an endless playing movie in an Imax theater up in Northern Michigan. Kim's inclusion in the book with the mighty Mac bridge, her describing the sites area of Mackinaw Mich and the islands, and mention of the "fudgies" made me chuckle. I am surprised that they haven't started selling this book all the gift shops in and around the tourist district.

It would appear that Rachel likes a heterosexual lifestyle, and Kim writes it safe between her and Kisten. Only brief teasing sequences between Ivy and Rachel which seems to me that Kim isn't truly prepared to make the Rachel the witch and Ivy the vampire lovers quite yet. Is she afraid that readers will respond negatively to such lesbian scenes?

How Tina can make you smile, or laugh but not turn you off with expletives, or putting people down. She talks about her life, some of the shiny moments, and those that happened, but she never let them keep her down. Its definately a good book to enjoy.. you can read a chapter, and return to it in a week, and not be upset that you forgot something from before. A great audio book for a road trip with spouse, or we found with our teenage kids.

There were many, but think the point where she was so exhausted filming "30 Rock," planning her daughters birthday party, and filming SNL... and Oprah asks her if she's spread herself a tad to slim.. its great.. we all do things like that.Or where she lets some people unmentioned that have jars of urine in there offices!

DUH- No brainer- Sarah Palin!

15 minutes of fame that people won't forget.

I never realized how she had been a writer for SNL, long before Lorne Michael put her in front of the camera, and how her career took off with the comedy team of her and Amy Poeller and doing politics (Sarah Palin). And of course how much 30 Rock was enjoyed by millions.

Yes, I enjoyed the audio presentation.

It brought back memories from when I saw the movie at the drive in...I still can think of the strong performances of the actors like Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty, and Jon Voight. Now that I heard the audiobook, I can see where they got some of that passion. A very good book, moving, and spellbinding.

I found a few chapters that got mired down in description, which I could have easily turned the page if I had read the book.
The overwhelming action sequences where they are in the river, fighting for thier lives in canoes grabs a hold of you, and makes you feel just like you are on the riverbank viewing all this.

I would reccomend the Zombie Fallout series first.. this one is good when it goes on sale.
It was good, got a tad bit longish near the end.. going a bit wierder after * spoiler* the main characters wife dies. It all ties together for a complete ending.
It had a good storyline.

Mike's paranormal vision, and the love between him and his wife.

Yes, but not award winning or anything.

Lasting-Imaginitive-Consuming. A heck of a well spun story- coming of age for two boys who grew up together and stayed best friends thier entire lives, finding thier place in this world, and the love they have for each other, yet not in a homosexual way. It leaves you with the question, was Owen a false profit, misguided, yet beleived he was. Owen on the other hand grows up like so many others, just getting buy, and finds his placement in the world. So much to this book. I am awestruck.

THe1/3 was just building the charactors, but as you got to know them, and thier personalities, you want to read more. Then you get hooked, and thirst for more.
It really is a great & wonderful book, how it ties together. Impressive how well done John Irving did on this book. I never tought I would like it, it wasn't in my genre, but I am impressed, and came away happy I took the time to read it. I would reccomend it to anyone, and it was well worth the money. It is a must read, and rightfully belongs in the "not to be missed", or "won't be sorry for buying this selection" files!!!

4.1 to.4.5 Its not because I am a war buff, I am not.. but I was intrigued with the rich imagery, the charactor developement, and the politics behind the war. It just holds so much that its been weeks since finishing, and I still think about things that I experienced growing up. My brothers were much older, and one went to Vietnam while I was still just beginning gradeschool.. The experiences I remember, the anti war,, and pro= pride for America, in the schools, the upbringing about the color barriers, and its these imiges that bring back many memories for my childhood... It brings back those memories from reading the book.
Its not just about the enemy.. its more than that. THe polititians that kept the war going, and the racial barrier that was there.. fighting for a hill, than meant relativly nothing.
I remember the "All in the Family" craze, my dad loving Archie Bunker who was such a bigot.. and Lionel Jefferson, telling him he wanted to be an "E-lectrical Engineer".. and now I realize.. how Lional reacted much the way he wanted whites to see him.. but behind people like thier backs, how stupid and ignorant the old school whites were.. The blacks were fighting a war at home, they wanted their equal rights.
Or course this story isn't about All in the family.. its about the tension.. the blood, the sweat, the frustration.. how many of these lads went in with ideals, or some not knowing what they wanted to do, or the ones that were drafted.. and came out of Vietnam hating how they were used, mamed, injured, torn, or the ones that died for no apparent reason.
Its just an excellant work. I recommend it, for stirring up feelings or anger, sadness, and wonderment of how these men carried on.. how each day seemed so long, just for them to get their call of duty over with.

Excellant Narrator... By the 1/3 of the book, or audio, you begin to care about the Marines of Bravo company.. you begin to immerse yourself into the mud, and heat right along with them.. your throat becomes dry.. the smell of your body rotting, the lack of sleep. Wonderful story telling.

Well done story, it was better than the first and for the lovers of zombie sci fi, it holds up will for zombie genre. It has good action, and follows smoothly.

I get the feeling that it was Jay that wrote this book with Kirkman's assistance.. it follows the walking dead storyline, but was missing something, a little drawn out to make the book longer. Maybe I am too much a fan, but R Kirkman refers to the undead as walkers and biters, while Bonansinga uses the term zombies, and too often uses the word,"supine".

Probably where Lily starts to put together things aren't safe in Woodbury, and she is realizing that her friends are disapearing. All I am going to say. read the book.

Yes. It shows a parallel storyline to Rick and the others at the Prison who are surviving following to the zombie virus. The characters are rich in thier developement, only disapointed to see many die off by end.

By about the third time they are caught unaware of walkers, and taken by surprise, I am wondering , if these are survivors, then how did they manage to outwit, and survive? I mean, how many were first taken, bitten, and caught in the armagedon, these survivors would definately be sharper, keener and skills honed to pre-awareness of walkers movement towards them.. noise, smell, etc.

Yes, the distinct language and meaning of the words throws you back, and by mid way of the story, you as a reader are interpreting what the words mean. Its like being stranded in a strange land and picking and learning a new second language.

Interesting plot, and a different technique used in telling of it. Gripping and interesting all the way thru.

I wish Audible would have first played a glossary of terms at the beginning. I was disapointed after hearing for years about it, then the prefix was Mr. Burgess telling a bit about it, and how he wears this like an anchor around his neck, how he always has to talk about the book, which he considers was not one of his greatest work. I am sorry, but if you wrote a book, and it gets included in the top 100 reads of the century.. take it and be humbled that people chose you.
I enjoyed it, but the prefix took away from the beginning pleasure to it. I would have rather read the book, then heard his interview after the story. All in all a good book.

Yes, my friends who love Sci-Fi and stretching thier imagination. A good story, and definately will recommend to them to get it whenever it goes on sale or they have credits to get the book.

Yes... I finished it in 4 days.... I wanted to listen to it every night...

The first half was excellent, with getting to know the different charactors to the building.. and developing the story... there were some lenghy descriptions which I felt were a bit un-needed which made for dry reading, or listening.. which just added lengh.. maybe 2 hrs could have been chopped out with no damage to the story.
The second half got a bit far fetched.. that's my only complaint... but over all, I enjoyed the book and think that Peter Clines will only get better in future books.. this one was very good.

The imagery, and the imagination of how early man thought, and survived.

Sandra's fine distinction of how Ayla and the other charactors speak, as well as when they think out loud to themselves, her punctuation, and her rhythem. She did a fine job, and want to read the next.

Forget the first!!! The Darryl Hannah movie was crap! They sold it to producers, and weren't committed to make it like the book, like so many others.. the book was better!

I was a boy growing up and my family were reading the books, and I simply passed it over, it wasn't an interest at the time.. now that all that time passed, I remember how my Mom was talking to friends and smile, because it really was a good read.. She's passed on for 15 years, but it brought back memories that were locked away.
