I have waited soooo long for this book and it did not disappoint me at all. I am thrilled that Scott Brick continues to be the narrator of these books. He is John Cory and anyone else reading the book for audio would detract from the book. I listened to the book in a little over 24 hours and will listen to it again soon. I highly recommend it as I have all the others in the series to many friends.
I have read or listen to all of the John Cory series except Plum Island which I can't find on audio. DeMille is a great writer and I would love for him to keep the series going. Also the character from The Generals Daughter would be great to revive.
I really enjoy the interview by Scott Brick of Nelson DeMille at the end of the tape.
Thanks Audible for getting this out to us and for Scott Brick who has become such a favorite of mine that I have a hard time listening to anyone else narrating a book on tape.
Historically accurate thriller
The Doctor. He was a "man's man" for that day and time. His family, his profession and his community were his passions.
The first book I had heard read by this narrator. He did a great job, kept my interest throughout and brought the characters to life for me.
Yes but to long for one sitting. I did get it completed quickly however. I will listen to the book again in a few months.
If you are familiar with the south during the 60's or want to learn about the movements that went on this book is for you.
I will listen again to The Target as I have to all of David Baldacci's books. This one on it's own is exciting, stories within stories taking you in different directions but always staying on "Target".
The apology…. Read it to find out what that means...
They are fabulous. I'm a big Scott Brick fan but these two are great together.
I would love to but alas can not as I work...
I really enjoy David Baldacci books. He is one of my favorites...
The detailed information about his life that I never knew before.
I've listen to this book twice and may listen a third time. You learn something different about the great Washington each time. His reluctance to be President and to have a second term was compelling. We should have more people in government today.
I wish the author would do a book on every president..
I love the wit that Nelson DeMille write with and the way Scott Brick interprets John Corey. I couldn't imagine anyone else's voice being John Corey.
All the way through the book. I have listen to this book 3 times and enjoyed it more each time I listened.
Scott Brick is my favorite narrator. I enjoy anything he reads. I alway keyword in his name to see what he is doing that is new.
The entire book.
I hope Nelson DeMille continues to write many more John Corey novels. He may be getting older but he can go back and relive some of Corey's previous life. Anything to keep one of the best series going I've ever read.
Nelson Demille's books about John Corey are always the best. I have listened to many audio books and have never enjoyed one as much as I have any John Corey novel. The combination of DeMille's great writing and Scott Brick's great interpretation of Corey it's an automatic winner. This may not be as good as Wild Fire but it's very close. Can't wait for the next John Corey novel.
All of this series stands out as the best to me.
Scott Brick is by far my favorite narrator. He is John Corey and I don't think I could ever listen to someone other then Scott Brick read DeMille's books. I always look under Scott Brick's name and search for what he's been narrating and usually get it just because he's reading the book.
I have listened to it twice and will probably listen at least once more depending on how long it takes for DeMille to write another Corey book. Tell him to HURRY!! I'm not getting any younger....
I would recommend any DeMille book and 99 percent of those read by Scott Brick.
I enjoyed the entire series. This one was as good as the first one and was easier to follow since I knew the characters. I had to listen to book 1 twice and see the movie to get all the characters down.
Not as much as book 1 but it was a thriller for sure.
In the barn and the interview with the local policeman.
When she finally realizes she has to trust someone in life.
It took me a while to get use to the narrator but once I did I enjoyed his reading.
As an adventure, just for fun read it ranks very high but I always enjoy a
The anti hero aspect but with a heart.
My two favorite narrators are Scott Brick and George Guidall. Both do a great job on almost every book I've listened to read by them.
I spent the day running around with it in my ear. Got through it in one day.
I've been a member for 8-years and have not been disappointed with your service or your books. Keep up the good work.
I have listened to it twice already. I really enjoy the humor, style of writing and characters, not to mention the action. I just wish they were longer books.
As it always does with Parker's books. You never know what Spencer is going to do. If he's an outlaw or a citizen.
Spencer without a doubt. Joe Mantegna had big shoes to fill following the death of Robert Urich. Joe was the perfect choice to read these books.
SPENCER.....CAN HE ENDURE THE
The combination of Nelson DeMille and Scott Brick as John Cory can not be beat. DeMille's writing is witty, suspenseful, full of twists and turns and Scott Brick pulls it off with humor, a style that DeMille has said is a big part of the success of the series and he becomes the character of John Cory. DeMille is a master writer. I have read or listened to all his books and have not been disappointed in any of them although this series is my favorite by far. I can't wait until the next one in this series is available.
