  • Yes Prime Minister: Volume 3

    • ORIGINAL (1 hr and 59 mins)
    • By BBC Audiobooks
    • Narrated By Full Cast

Yes Prime Minister was the equally funny and successful follow-up to Jonathan Lynn and Antony Jay's hit series Yes Minister. At the end of that series the well-meaning but incompetent Jim Hacker (Paul Eddington), steered by the invisible cunning of Sir Humphrey (Nigel Hawthorne) finally made it to Number Ten, on the back of (so to speak) the Eurosausage.

    "Importing issues with iTunes"
How could the performance have been better?

I purchased all three volumes but after Importing in iTunes I only see Vol 1 and Vol2. However windows media player shows all three volumes? Unfortunately I need to use iTunes for my iPod and am not able to use it.
Another annoying part is there is no data for each track. I have seen a short description show for some audio books. Here you get only Track1, Track2 and so on.

This mesmerizing first novel tells the epic journey of Lin, an escaped convict who flees maximum security prison in Australia to disappear into the underworld of contemporary Bombay. Accompanied by his guide and faithful friend, Prabaker, Lin searches for love and meaning while running a clinic in one of the city's poorest slums and serving his apprenticeship in the dark arts of the Bombay mafia. The keys to unlock the mysteries that bind Lin are held by two people: his mentor Khader Khan, mafia godfather and criminal-philosopher; and the beautiful, elusive Karla, whose passions are driven by dangerous secrets.

Perhaps I am not worthy of writing a review on this book. I don't read many books and I am new to audiobooks so it was a miracle that I came across this book. How is it possible that someone from a different culture and a country is able to live and write in detail of my culture and my Mumbai? I grew up in Mumbai and was a teeager in the 80's when the story is set. I remember all the detail events (including the assasination of Indira Gandhi) that he describes in the story. Maybe that made the experience even more meaningful for me.
The author squeezes the line between reality and fiction really really thin. The Narrator takes the story to another level. I was really afraid of the Mumbai police at times while listening.
The author is so approachable and positive without being predictable for a single moment in the story that it is easy to fall in love with him. After finishing the book I felt a hollow where I didn't want to read any other book for a long time. I happened to be in Mumbai then and took a trip to Leopold Cafe and bought a hard copy and started reading again.
Yes some of ther reviewers have rightly said this could change your life! I also noticed, most of the reviewers were not of Indian origin, I feel so humbled that this story can be appreciated by anyone across the world.
