Lithgow does a great job with this. You can hear the excitement he has for poetry in his narrative. Was a great cross-section of poets, and great selections. Those who read the poems did so with the energy intended. Bravo!
I love the reading of Edward Lear's ``The Owl and the Pussycat" and ``The Jumblies"
(hope you can correct the grammar in the above question)
The narrators read the poems with all the energy, emphasis and spirit intended.
No. Though I agree with the theory (there's no money in the cure) this book is nothing but a repetitve rant. As Trudeau stutters through the portions he reads, you can be sure you're not really getting the book as much as his interjections. Surely an editor would have pointed out all the repetition... Color me bored to tears...
No... Just Trudeau.
You couldn't pay me to....
The explanation is valid, but I don't need it spelled out repeatedly for 7 hours...
Wish there was such a thing as refunds ... this book bites.
I'd be happy to listen to another in this genre and review it, but I'm 5 hours into this one, having skipped ahead a a few chapters once or twice, and I've had enough.
A better performance might have changed it. Couldn't even get through 40 minutes of the book.
An excellent autobiography! Filled with so many great short stories, and raw human emotionality, I didn't want to stop listening! Was nevee a huge Sammy Hagar fan before ... but he's won me over now -- not only with his standing as a legenedary rock and roll artist, but as wise business entrepreneur as well! Bravo Sammy! Wishing you the best in all you do always!
