I would not listen to criticisms of the narrator. I delayed buying this book because of reviews. I know now to take those reviews with a grain of salt. The narrator reads the story with a sort of simple style as if one was reading from scripture. So it grates on some because it sounds as if she needs practice. Her voices of characters are good and if you listen, her style is perfect for the story. The story is a little Taming of the Shrew like but with the backdrop of faith. I enjoyed the story and the narration, skillfully done.

This is a story more easily followed if you are reading it rather than listening. So many things can be said in writing that............simply do not come across in narration. The story jumps around because there are many main characters who are also telling the story from their point of view all converging later in the other books.

I was originally drawn to the book because of the narrator. She did a great job in this series. Still I found the that listing to this story twice was almost an essential thing to pick up all the things you would have understood reading it. Changes in places and who is talking and even time issues overlap. It was confusing at the start. After listening to the whole series I can appreciate all of it. I will have to say I did enjoy the series but this first book was not as enjoyable as I had hoped. In the end I am glad I finished the series. At some time later I would listen to the whole series again.

This is the last of the books from this series. It focused on a new person rather than the 6 main people of the other books. I was sad to see this series end. It will be definately be a series I will listen to again in a year. Worth the credits. I hesitated getting into this series and now wish I had listened sooner.

I have enjoyed this series though I am not finished. It is an easy listen. I often find some stories where either the narrator is too difficult to listen to or the story too complex that you have to pay attention to follow who is doing what.

I enjoyed the story. It is an adult story but it is not romance. I have read a few of the Marla Mason stories and none are really romance novels. This really is the story of how Marla came from street urchin to the become a part of the magical world. The narrator has a kid like voice but it isn't out of charactor for who Marla is. She is a bit sacastic in tone and uses the pregnant pause a great deal. Her delivery of the story is also slower paced for dramatic effect so much so that you can speed the narration up with little loss of the impact the narrator is trying to achive and without making her voice sound more chipmunkie than it already is. I enjoyed the humor and the story.

I loved this whole series and waited so long for this last one. I reread the whole series again before beginning this last book. I didn't want to miss anything. This story is about love, temptation, redemption, and hope. I had suspisions about how this would turn out and was susprised by a few of the details. I was worried that the book would not live up to all the anticipation I had waiting nearly a year for this last book. This last book didn't disappoint. Richelle did a great job. Elizabeth's narration when I first started the series was a little odd to me. I thought to myself "who talks like that," but it was the perfect voice of a succubus. Her only break was as Letha as a young girl and Georgina's melt down with Carter at the end of the last book (Succubus Shadows). I finished this series satisfied with everthing about it.

I enjoyed this one. In some of her books I felt like they ended like a TV series season's cliff hanger. There are still loose ends here that leave room for a last book book. As always the narrator Barbara Rosenblat did a great job with her voices. Her whole series is a great light hearted story that makes me laugh.

This is a story that is a bit akin to a sitcom. I have read the complaints about the narrator and I completely disagree. She added to the comedic situations the charactors found themselves in. The way she exclaims "Aisling, you are my mate" in Drake's deep Hungarian accent, is supposed to make you chuckle. If you have no sense of humor please do not listen to it. I have looked for other books this narrator has done, and her voice is very different. It was then when I realized how great she was....."she's a professional, damn it."

This is perhaps the best book in the series. I generally listen to this driving but I really couldn't stop listening. So many subtle things I realized later made this a great book and a great narration. When I started the series it took me a while to get used to the narrator. I said to myself who talks like that....oh yeah a lesser immortal who is a seductress. My thoughts now are how skilled this book was narrated and how the story unfolds, leaves me wanting the next book. I know it is already written and at the publisher, my hope is that the narration isn't delayed. I'll have to read it myself if it is.
