You have a fulfilling job, a great group of friends, the perfect apartment, and no shortage of dates. So what if you haven’t found The One just yet? Surely he’ll come along, right? But what if he doesn’t? Or even worse, what if he already has, but you just didn’t realize it? Lori Gottlieb said the unthinkable in her March 2008 article in The Atlantic: Maybe she, and single women everywhere, needed to stop chasing Prince Charming and instead go for Mr. Good Enough.

"good material for an article, not a book"
    Overall

Very interesting material and impressive statistic, but it is good for an article, not a book. Was very boring after first 50 minutes. Same thing over and over again.
    Narrator did a good job.

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

What would cause a talented young student from a wealthy family to shoot himself in the Alexander Gardens in front of a promenading public? Perhaps it might be the ennui and decadence so popular in France and now migrating over to the upper classes of Russia. The chief of the Criminal Investigations Division of the Moscow Police certainly thinks so, and paradoxically puts his newest recruit, Erast Fandorin, on the case.

I have read all books of Boris Akunin in Russian. Love his historical mysteries. A lot of information about Russia of 19th century. May be a bit na?ve, melodramatic, but still so much fun to read. Was nicely surprised by the good translation and the excellent job done by the narrator.

On the eve of Marcus Cicero's inauguration as consul of Rome, the grisly death of a boy sends ripples of fear through a city already wracked by civil unrest, crime, and debauchery of every kind. Felled by a hammer, his throat slit and his organs removed, the young slave appears to have been offered as a human sacrifice, forbidden as an abomination in the Roman Republic.

I just love Robert Harris and his books. His first book about ancient Rome and Cicero, Imperium, was just excellent. It gives you so much information about Rome in the first century BC, about the politics and politicians. Conspirata is a good follow up, although it does not give you the same big picture about that ancient time. But still it is extremely interesting to read about the characters like Caesar, Cicero, Pompey, Catalina, Crassus, and Clodius. And the narrator did a very good job presenting different personages.

In 1917, Nicholas II, Tsar of Russia, was executed by revolutionaries. Now, in response to the collapse of the country's economy, the people have voted to instate a new Tsar, one who will be chosen from the descendents of Nicholas II. But a powerful group of Western businessmen want to make sure he is a candidate they can control, and hire African-American lawyer Miles Lord, with his knowledge of Russian language and history, to check the background of their chosen man.

Christopher says: "This was well worth it."
    "pure fiction"
    Overall

While listening this book I have to always remind myself that this is just a fiction and not a history novel. A lot of twisted facts from Russian history and Russian real life made this reading thorny for me. But overall, it is a decent fiction story.
