"Great time travel book that keeps you guessing"
Felix Palma did a great job of really capturing the "air" of Victoria London. His method of interweaving stories kept my interested and I was pleasantly surprised at how they wove into one another.
James Langton, did a fantastic job bringing this story to life. Where Palma captures London with words, Langton captures the Victorian feel with his tone and pacing.
The story itself is just plan fun. With Jake the Ripper, H.G. Wells, and a method of travel to the future, how can you go wrong.
The constant tease of is it real or not in the story, keeps you reading to find out.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of early science fiction stories. It's well worth you time and money.
"Great Stuff!"
I've always had a soft spot in my heart for von Daniken and his books.
I read this book originally when I was very young. I thought it was interesting and inventive and lead me to read the rest of his books as he's written them. It also lead me to sample other books of alternative history, all of which has given me a better perspective of the world.
I don't think you have to agree with his conclusions to like the book, but it should help you learn how one individual began to ask questions of the world around him when the answers he was receiving weren't personally satisfying.
"Very enjoyable"
In a crazy developed by the Millennium series of books, this Danish crime series fits right in. Even though Siteg Larsson was Swedish not Danish, I found the pacing and tone of this book to be very similar.
This book features a reluctant hero seemingly trudging through his time on the police force after a traumatic event. An opportunity arises, for he that he originally sees as a dodge to escape work and notice.
Slowly the character along with his supporting cast begin to unwind the mystery around a kidnapped female MP.
The book kept me listening often well into when I really should have been doing other things because I wanted to know what would happen next.
If you enjoy a good crime thriller, I would suggest giving this first book in a series a try.
"A solid follow up book in the series"
The third book in this series maintains the high quality established in the first two books.
It delivers on great story, good action, and offers tidbits to the attentive listener to the first two books.
If you enjoy Zombie books (and who doesn't) this trilogy is amongst the best I've listened to. Well worth you time and money to give it a try.
"Very Compelling"
A very compelling listen.
The story sucked me in and I found myself listening much longer than I had meant to several times.
Fascinating topic that is well researched, backed up with logical thought, and presented in a fashion that is easy for an non expert to understand.
If you have any interest in evolution and the effects that it had on making who we are now, I would highly suggest this book to you.
"Great work"
I have to admit, I came into this book having read several other pieces that argue both for and against William Shakespeare as the author of his works.
This one was by far the best researched and best presented of them all.
It was interesting, compelling and kept me listening.
If you've read other books in the past or have never been presented with the concept of Shakespeare as the author of his works, you'll be engaged.
Check it out!
"Even better than the first!!!"
I tried the first book in this series because it was on sale. I'm soooooo happy I did, This book picks up not too long after the end of the first book.
The story is fast paced and interesting and continues to do a great job developing the main character and supporting cast.
I'm shocked this series hasn't been optioned for a tv show yet.
Worth your time and money!
"Get your comic book geek on!!!!!!!"
Grant Morrison is a brilliant comic book writer. He's work is always at a cutting edge, engaging and fun.
This historic look at the medium form his perspecitive was entertaining, interesting and informative.
If you love (or loved) comics, you'll get a kick out of this book. Well worth the time to feed your inner geek.
"How can you not love Christopher Moore?????"
I'm a huge Christopher Moore fan! This new novel is fun, inventive, fast moving and exciting.
The story includes a large number of historical French painters, and as always with a Moore book, has a lot of twists and turns.
This one might not be as great as Fool or Stupidest Angel, but is very enjoyable and worth you time to listen.
The voice work by Euan Morton was very engaging, and helped keep me listening.
"Surprising and fun listen"
I really didn't know what to expect out of this alternative history story. Set at the onset of WWI in a different universe, this book 1 of a series, draws you into the story quickly and keeps you there. The storytelling is fast paced, interesting and gets you to want to listen to the rest of the series. Well worth the time
