"Definitely worth more than 1 star."
I wasn't going to review this book, but after reading the 1st review, I just have to speak up. It's Bourne, Robert Ludlum and Scott Brick!!! That is more than enough for listening entertainment. I was going to give it 4 stars but I'm doing what I can to right a 1 star travesty. Not as good as "Identity" and "Supremacy" but still a GREAT listen. I'm glad to have this third book of the trilogy, even at 2 credits.
"Wish I could give it 10 Stars!!!"
Fantastic listen: Entertaining, Exciting and Captivating. Better than 'Bourne Identity' (didn't think that was possible}. Can't say enough. Don't expect to hear what you saw on the screen (two different stories - both unbelievable). If I sound like a Bourne enthusiast, you're right. Wish that Ludlum were still alive and writing.
"Awful!!!"
This abridged version and the other two narrated by Darren McGavin are a waste of time, and money too. I just finished listening to the NEW unabridged version, and it was wonderful.
"Still A Great Story!"
A great story when first written and still a great story to listen to. Audible offers two unabridged versions; listen to both samples and dertimine which you would rather listen to. One with a Bostonian accent and one without. I first read this story as a teenager, and now in my sixties, it still remains one of my all time favorites. If you're not in for over 20 hours of listing, get the unabridged version. It's an action adventure at 2 1/2 hours and I have found it to be a favorite of mine to fall asleep at night listing to (spurs some interesting dreams).
"Thoroughly Enjoyable!!!"
Unlike Issac Asimov's "Foundation", this production of "Dune" is Thoroughly Enjoyable Listening. The full cast production brings the pages of this book to life. The music track is subtle in the background and enhances rather than detracts.
I've been waiting for this for over 5 years and I look forward to the next 6 in this anthology.
If your a lover of "Dune", you won't be disappointed. If not, Try it, good chance you'll like it.
"Boreing!!!"
Not Asimov, not Heinlein, and not Herbert. Good story, but bores you to death with WAY TOO MUCH narrative.
"Disapointed!!!"
I,ve been reading Science Fiction for over 40 years, now, and The Foundation Trilogy and it's sequels and prequels have been my all time favorite stories. So, when I saw it in your library, I was overjoyed and looking forward to hearing it. Even though it was an abridged version I still wanted to hear it. Boy was I disapointed!!! Someone thinks that extensive music and background noises would enhance one of Science Fiction's all time greatest stories ever.
I gave it three stars because of the story and author, but I plan to re-record it and delete the DUMB, IRRITATING and DISTRACTING music!!!
"Captivating and riviting!!!"
An excellent yarn. Better than the movie, and the reason I purchased the audio book was because of the movie. Its the type of story that leaves you wishing that it hadn't come to the end yet. I'm a Science Fiction, Tolkien, Mystery and Classic addict. This is one story that will have me returning to hear it again, whereas, most Science Fiction listining is enough to hear once.
