People - friends, family members, work colleagues, salespeople - lie to us all the time. Daily, hourly, constantly. None of us is immune, and all of us are victims. According to studies by several different researchers, most of us encounter nearly 200 lies a day. Now there’s something we can do about it. Liespotting links three disciplines - facial recognition training, interrogation training, and a comprehensive survey of research in the field - into a specialized body of information developed specifically to help business leaders detect deception....

    Story

A very long introduction and lots of views about when and where lies are okay and not okay. Lots of stories about people being lied to and how they handled it. A whole chapter on how a company might have a "trust audit" done by professionals. A chapter on having a group of people that give you advice.

It is more of a book that would help you track down other resources that, might, tell you how to spot lies.

In the Justice Department’s new Bioethics Committee, agent Les Mahler sees a sinister pattern emerging.... Zoe Kincaid is a petite college student whose rare genetic makeup may hold the key to a powerful medical breakthrough. When she is kidnapped, the very thing mankind has wanted since the dawn of time threatens to unleash our final destruction.

    Story

I enjoyed the growth of Zoe in a story where she stopped growing. Trying to rip her independence from the people that were not ready to give it to her. Every teenager has experienced the feeling of being an adult and being able to handle decisions and being held back from making them by the adults around them. Imagine being stuck in that in-between area of development forever, having to earn the respect of every single person you meet that you can take care of yourself and make decisions for yourself.
Then there is the medical and science fields that is having its hands tied by government. The government deciding what is important research and how they have conflicting interest with the truth and progress and how they can use their power to influence or retard the advancement of ideas in a direction they don't like. We are seeing this today in self driving cars, the government is trying to stop the cars before they even show what they can do. This book is interesting in both the places it takes you and where it can take your mind after you are done with the book. I enjoyed this book on many levels and so will you!

In 2027, destroying an embryo is considered first-degree murder. Fertility clinics still exist, giving hope and new life to thousands of infertile families, but they have to pass rigorous inspections by the United States Department of Embryo Preservation. Fail an inspection, and you will be prosecuted.

This book is really hard to pause, let alone stop! I enjoyed every minute. I will be recommending this to the 15-20 year old girls I know because of the strong and powerful role model that Arianna Drake can be for them.

This book showed me that there is still some people trying looking back to the Constitution and the proper role of government before writing laws in congress. That was very refreshing!
