When a 15-year-old girl shows up to plead with Elvis to find her errant father, his first impulse is to hand the case over to Social Services. But he sees how hard the kid is working to keep her two siblings together and afloat. The father sounds like an angel; the case should be a cinch. But as Elvis investigates, he finds the dad seems to be a mover in the criminal underworld who is on the verge of a grand scheme.

    "Horrible narration"

David Stuart absolutely does not work as Elvis Cole. I picture him as a 20 year old accountant fresh out of college weighing about 140 with Thick glasses. His russian accents are cartoonish, sounds like Boris from Rocky and Bullwinkle. I rarely stop listening to even the worst of books always hoping that it will get better but I don't think I am going to make it with this one.

Four people in a car, hoping to make Chicago by morning. An hour behind them, a man lies stabbed to death in an old pumping station. He was seen going in with two others, but he never came out. He has been executed, the knife work professional, the killers vanished. Within minutes, the police are notified. Within hours, the FBI descends, laying claim to the victim without ever saying who he was or why he was there. All Reacher wanted was a ride to Virginia. All he did was stick out his thumb. But he soon discovers he has hitched more than a ride.

What disappointed you about A Wanted Man?

    Everything

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    None whatsoever

    Any additional comments?

I have listened to every Reacher novel there is and loved them...my most favorite character. In 50 years of reading I have only quit on a book maybe 5 times, but after 6 hours of Wanted man I finally realized that there was no hope. It is almost as this book was written by a Ghost Writer and not reviewed by Mister Child. If Child did indeed write this book perhaps it is time to retire Reacher because it seems as though you are burned out on this character. But please write one more and let him go out with dignity.
