"If you like Evonavich you will like this series."
This is the first book in the series and I am hooked! After listening to this book, I purchased the whole set.
I like that Jack(Jackie)Daniels is a little older and wiser. She is a 50 something cop with many years under her belt yet can get into some interesting situations.
The narrator dose a good job with the different voices and is easy to listen to.
"I ended up listening to this one all night"
It is not too often that I start a book and can not stop until it is finished. This was one that I just could not turn off. Everytime I thought I was getting to a good stopping point something big happened and I had to listen on.
What I really liked was the ending. I thought I had this one figured out fairly early on but was quite surprised who it was.
"This sounds like it is going to be a good one!"
I just listened to this last night. From this preview I am putting this on my wish list an will be looking for the release.
Anyone that reads the Plum books will know that a monkey added to her life is going to cause problems and create lots of laughs.
"This book was an all night listen"
I ended up listening to this book from start to finish. The ending is quite a surprise!
I will be looking for more books by this author. I think he is also did the narration. If he ever stops writing I think he could have a great vocation as a narrator.
"Boy this book brought back memories"
I have been watching for this book. My very first memories are of my Dad's 1947 Ford Woody.
Each chapter starts with a quote from the old Berma Shave road signs. I love those old signs. I remember one that was quoted, This will never come to pass, A backseat driver out of gas...Berma Shave. This sign group was right down the road from where I now live.
The story is about a Woody owner tracking down some old family history and solving the murders of the "Four on the Floor" bodies found in the restoration shop where his Woody was being restored. It has a few twists and turns that were not expected.
This was an easy listen!
"Grab a blanket! You will feel the cold!"
This book is about a doctor that discovered a lump in her breast shortly after the last plane left the South Pole. She was stuck there for over 8 months before they were able to rescue her.
While telling the story of her ordeal she also paints a picture of what life is like living in such a harsh environment. You will feel the cold as you listen to the stories of how people work and play at temperatures below zero.
I do not know if it was the recording or the reader but this book often has a slight pause in the middle of a word. I tend to feel that it was the reader though. If not for this, I would give this 5 stars.
"This is a real cliff hanger right to the end"
I really enjoyed this book. The plot twists and turns clear to the very end. Every time you think you have everything figured out another twist pops up. Yes, there is even a cliff involved.
The story is about a 14 year old girl that wakes up to find the rest of her family has disappeared without a trace. Most of the events take place 25 years later with Cin trying to figure out what really happened to them.
"Boy was this a good one!"
I really enjoy Stephen White books and am so happy Audio has decided to add his books. While each book is a great read on its own, his books are a series so I recommend that you try to read them in order to follow along with the side stories about the main characters.
Do not start this one at bedtime unless you plan on staying up for a good listen. There are lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing what will happen next.
"Another Good One by White"
I have never been dissapointed in any of this authors books and this is not an exception.
People keep dissapearing as psychologist Alan Gregory trys to figure out what happened to one of his associates. There are lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing till the very end.
The author does a very good job with describing the area around Boulder, the weather conditions and the essence of the community. I was very impressed with the way he blended information from a well known missing person case into the story without getting into the politics of the case.
"I gave up on this one."
After two cases I gave up because they just left you hanging in the air.
