I enjoyed listening to this book despite what I had read in other listeners' reviews. It's not an action-packed story, but Anne Tyler always does a great job developing her characters and this book is no exception. Liam and all of his relatives are typical Tyler: quirky and, for the most part, lovable.
The different storylines throughout the story were thought-provoking and interesting. The two main characters, Lou and Will, were quite memorable, and the narrator was excellent. As I listened to the story, I was reminded more than once how difficult it must be for a quadriplegic to lead a normal life.
Hard to pick just one! The two that come to mind: The thunderstorm Will and Lou enjoyed during their tropical vacation and the Paris cafe where Lou read Will's very touching letter.
Probably Lou was my favorite.
No....I didn't want it to end!
This is one of the best audiobooks I've listened to in quite some time. I highly recommend it!
I chose this book because of all the glowing reviews from other people who had listened to it. I have to admit, their assessment of the story and performance were accurate. Thoroughly enjoyed this book!
Yes, I would recommend this audiobook highly. The storyline was interesting and I liked the historical aspect of the book. The narration was excellent.
I enjoyed listening to this audiobook very much. The narrator was perfect for this book and the collection of stories by Julian Barnes was interesting and entertaining. I usually don't read or listen to short stories, but after reading other listeners' opinions, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did!
I enjoyed this book very much. The story was intriguing and the narration was superb.
