"I'm in the minority on this one"
This is a good story line but I am just not a fan of "diary" based books. That being said I really enjoyed the performance by Jay Snyder and I did connect with the characters. Overall a good listen.
"Second in a series and I loved it"
The second in Rhiannon Fraters series and it held me just like the first. I connected with the characters and could feel what they might be enduring. I historically don't enjoy female narrators as much as males (Oliver Wyman is a voice god) but I thought Cassandra Campbell did a great job. Two thumbs up from me.
"Mayberry does it again and again"
My standard review for Jonathon Mayberry is that he is a god in the espionage/spy genre. I adore everything that leaves his pen. I own all his works and will gladly revisit them.
"Standard Mayberry review:-)"
Jonathan Mayberry is a literary god. Nothing but fast paced goodness comes from his pen.
"Excellent continuation of a great series"
Easy transition into the second book from MHI. The characters I fell in love with are still kicking some major monster ass and I get to live vicariously through them. Great job Larry and 2 thumbs up again to a wonderful read by Oliver Wyman! Excellent job of voicing characters so well that before they even say a word and they take that breath I know who's coming. (Earl Harbinger) loved it!
"Not what I expected from a Larry Correia audible"
This was such a disappointment. I sooo loved Larry's Monster Hunter International series that even though Oliver Wyman wasn't narrating, I still gave it a shot. It was a bad call and I wish I could have used a mulligan on it! I believe it was almost single handedly the narration by Mr Pinchot. I believe the storyline had potential but Pinchots inability to access adequate voice inflections in his switching characters became too much to bear. Everything blurred together in one long breathy expel. Suffice to say I'd like to exchange this purchase please:0)
"The morningstar strain was outstanding!"
This post-zombification tale of mankind kept me interested from the first word till the epilog. I loved that I received enough backstory on the characters to get attached but not the pages of useless info you sometimes gets when authors like to read their own words. It was a quick listen that I could do in spurts while driving and met all my basic horror requirements. Give it a listen. Oliver Wyman is a personal fav narrator of mine since the MHI series!
