Ten years ago in California, Daniel Pell, a self-styled Charles Manson, was sentenced to life in prison for murdering an entire family: husband, wife, and two children, plus one of his young male followers. He is brought to Salinas, California, to interview with Kathryn Dance after he is implicated in yet another killing. Things go terribly wrong during an interview break, and Pell escapes, intent on killing again.

    Paige says: "A decent listen"
    ".....zzzzz but but but"

Jeffery Deaver is a good writer, of that I have no doubt...BUT... I could not listen to this reader at all.... the soft soft monotone is soooo soothing that it forced me, for the first time ever, to give up on a book in the first three chapters. A friend has told me the story is pretty good...but listen to the sample to make sure you can handle the ""voice"" though.

In this exciting sequel to the acclaimed Dead I Well May Be, the mercenary Michael Forsythe is forced to infiltrate an Irish terrorist cell, confronting murder, mayhem, and the prospect of his own execution.

Rebecca says: "A more mature Michael..."
    "Great Read-doubt ye not!"
    Overall

A sucker for the irish brogue, I have enjoyed this book immensely. As an avid reader of all things thriller/mystery/suspense... this one gets top grade for keeping you engaged and suprised.
The reader is skilled and adept.

People start dropping dead around Charlie, giant ravens perch on his building, and it seems that everywhere he goes, a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Strange names start appearing on his nightstand notepad, and before he knows it, those people end up dead, too. Yup, it seems that Charlie Asher has been recruited for a new job, an unpleasant but utterly necessary one: Death.

    colleen says: "I loved it!"
    "Quirky but fun"
    Overall

First read of this author for me and definately not the last. Not just another Kurt Vonnegut wannabe, a genuine new (to me anyway) comedic voice... laughed alot and would recommend you give it a whirl...remember though it might be tough sledding the first few chapters til he hooks you!!!
