"Best yet!"
Comparing the audio to the print edition is akin to asking someone if they liked the movie or the book. It's all down to the performance, and the reader does a great job, so it's a great audio.
I've listened to other Greig Beck performances by Sean Mangan, and echoing my review title, this is the best yet.
I had read several reviews of this book that criticized the plot line where Alex is being pursued by several different agencies as detracting from the main story. I strongly disagree. One of the best parts for me was near the end of the book (I won't give out any spoilers, sorry) where Alex needs to act to save someone, and I found myself yelling "Save [that person], Alex, don't just stand there!!!" Luckily for me, I listen to the book in my car while driving to work so no one heard me making a fool of myself.
The main plot is great as well, would have liked more but then, I would have liked more of the whole book, too. If you have read any of the previous three and liked them, GET THIS BOOK! I can't wait for the next one.
"Full speed ride into action and mayhem."
The action was fast and brutal. The story took one turn after another. Sometimes predictable but predictable in the way you know a medium rare cut of prime rib is going to be f'ing delicious. I'm immediately going to start on book two without a second thought.
"Great story. Didn't want it to end."
I was a little unsure of this one at first, forcing myself to listen. Not too far into the story I found myself really connecting with the characters, really looking forward to what was going to happen next. The narration is a little 'unconventional' compared to most of the audiobooks I have listened to so far, but it quickly grew on me. There isn't a lot of hard sf in this book, but I really loved the story. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a great space, action, drama, romp.

Give this one a chance!
