Here, in 11 stories, a true memoir, five brand-new commentaries, and a linked horror story of Jack the Ripper by Ellison's great friend, the late Robert Bloch, the mesmerizing audio performance by the author provides in full measure the reason why Ellison has won Listen Up, Audio, and a shelf full of other awards, including investiture as one of the few Grand Masters of the literature of the fantastic. This one is the best yet.

Harlan reads his own work and that's always good. He always sounds a little unstable to me but it's a good kind of unstable if there is such a thing. It's a prickly kind of fun.

On the day she was abducted, Annie O’Sullivan, a 32-year-old Realtor, had three goals: sell a house, forget about a recent argument with her mother, and be on time for dinner with her ever-patient boyfriend. The open house is slow, but when her last visitor pulls up in a van as she’s about to leave, Annie thinks it just might be her lucky day after all.

It's Phantom of the Opera, Discworld style, when an aspiring singer and part-time witch wins a part in the big city opera, and quickly learns of a shadowy figure haunting the house. Now her sorceress companions Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg must come to her aid, before the fat lady sings her last rites!

In the 14th century, Templar knight Jean de Saint-Clair was tasked with piloting the order's treasure-laden fleets off the coast of France. To this end, he used a Jacob's Staff, a world-changing nautical instrument supposedly developed in his own time. Retired Army Ranger John Holliday knows better, for he possesses a similar instrument - one found in the hands of a four-thousand-year-old Egyptian mummy.

the story is OK but I didn't care for the cheap shots at our military. comparing them to nazis and saying young people that join " haven't got a brain in their heads" even fox news had to get spit on for no reason that had to do with the story. The narrator is not the worst. That title still goes to scott brick, but this guy is a close second. He makes every person, man, woman, nun, whatever all sound like the creepy teacher on south park, mr garrison. Until it devolves to a point that even the narration it's self sounds like a south park parody. But if you like that kind of stuff you might like it. I did not. It could of been pretty good.

I have 125 audiobooks from audible and have to tell you, this is by far the worst. I've been disappointed in books before but never like this. It's mindless babble. This is not writing, it's typing. Wish I had my money back. Don't waste yours.
