"Forget what you think you know"
If you bought the popular image of Dick Cheney as Bush's brain or Darth Vader you have to read this book. The memoir casts a different and much more detailed light on the era and changed what I thought I knew. May not want to go on a quail hunt with him but he was an honorable patriot.
"Not so much magic as magical"
A pleasant laid back listen for everyone who has wandered through life trying to find their passion told by the boy next door who found his in a childhood gift. Most authors shouldn't read their own books but this book wouldn't be as good read by anyone else. Alex reveals just a little 'leg' of the magician and a fascinating glimpse of a different world hiding in a New York City pizza parlor.
"Killing Language"
Nothing I haven't seen in other biographies of Lincoln but pulled together expertly in a fast paced and engaging style. Well written but O'Reilly narrates like he's never seen the book before. His uneven cadence and mis pronunciation of simple words (cavalry, carotid, harassment) would win him the pinhead award on his own show.
