Excellent. Engaging, and Entrancing. The reader creates distinctive accents and vocal styles for each character, and makes it so that you need not even know whom the speaker is to identify the speaker. I have always wanted to read this book, and cannot recommend this enough.
When you ask someone if they had read "war and peace" they usually shudder at the thought of a tome that weighs more than a small child, however this audiobook makes such a large work highly enjoyable.

I was sure, given the premise, and small context that the story was set in, that this was going to a very stereotypical Sci-Fi novel. All that changed within the first few chapters. Hamilton is able to create such a vivid world, predicting future technologies in a very unique yet logical way.

LIkewise, the "primes" (the alien invaders in this story) as a race, are very much Ender's Game inspired, but with a sinister twist, and a few advancements that make them distinctly different. A more mature threat.

As the title of this review suggests, I was disturbing surprised at just how good Hamilton is at writing space operas. I Have also posted a review for this books sequel, "Judas Unchained".

Very memorable, if not stereotypical characters, and a great story arc. All in all it is able to bring together all the various story threads from Pandora's star and make them viable. I was pleasantly surprised in how Hamilton, a seemingly unknown author, was able to create a universe so rich and alive with uniqueness. A great read for any science fiction fan, with the only downside being audible, besides this series, only offers [at the time of this review] 1 more real novel that takes place in this universe. Given the precedent of being able to 're-life' and 're-juv', the main characters from this book should be in future novels from Hamilton as well.
