I must adimit I love people's life story. This is a compelling story of a child's trauma and suffering. The aftermath of a neglected human being, an uncared for child that started out on a bad note should open our eyes as to what needs to be our focus.
As I listened to this story, I was struggling with some unforgiveness myself. But listening to the attitude and outlook of a man on death row brought me to conviction within my own soul. When a man on death row can talk about being thankful for so much, what on earth did I have to complain about.
Would love to see this story on film some day. Incredible.
Not having been a fan of Kurt Cobain or Nirvana
for that matter, my appeal to this biography was to answer my question. What drives us as human beings to the place of suicide?
With that said, I came out of this story with the depths of my soul being forever touched by a man I only read about. Such a human side to this very misguided genuis.
The book is filled with more foul language than I normally will give place to, but I wasn't reading Mary Poppins. Oh, you may need a barf bag @ times due to the graphic story line.
However, it never takes away from Kurt. The human, tender side that is there. You just have to look for it, you have to want to see it. But he is there.
Just like all little boys he needed nourturing, protection, he needed to know he was o.k.
Kurt, love ya man. You the person, not all the rock n roll drama. But you were a shining star even without a guitar.
I have this in paper back, audio cd, and ipod.
This man has done his homework. It is almost an instruction manual on awareness. Very intense is the author in his presentation to equip and educate. I have given this book to many of my friends and they share with their friends.
If you have an interest in successful children, in this case boys, this a must.
It takes us into their world, their minds, their needs as youngsters so we can produce better adults.
If you are looking for some insight into the little boy of your life, this I highly recomment.
This is a must read. Such a success story of this gifted man's life. A story to share with children of all ages, especially those which fail and those that dream big. All walks of life could be touched by this story.
This book by far exceeded my expectattions. I am not a sports fan, so wasn't too sure what to expect.
I am lost for words to describe the magnitude of inspiration, admiration, and over all compassion for this man and his life.
Made me want to join a football team!!
