This is the first in the popular series featuring California investigator Kinsey Millhone. She's 32, twice divorced, no kids, an ex-cop who likes her work...and who works strictly alone!

Narrator makes me fall asleep. Boring.
Also, what monkey chopped this audio book into chapters? Completely arbitrary breaks. I guess the logical chapter breaks is too sensible.

Neal Stephenson, "the hottest science fiction writer in America", takes science fiction to dazzling new levels. The Diamond Age is a stunning tale; set in 21st-century Shanghai, it is the story of what happens what a state-of-the-art interactive device falls into the hands of a street urchin named Nell. Her life, and the entire future of humanity, is about to be decoded and reprogrammed.

Mentioning Snow Crash in the publisher's blurb brought me to this book. I couldn't finish it. The plot was hard to follow. I kept thinking I missed a chapter (iPod finger error?) and kept going back to try to figure out what I missed. I don't understand what other readers see in it to rate it so high. Don't waste your time.
