The spring of 1824 is a challenging one for the inhabitants of Paradise N.Y. when a flood devastates the village. But for Nathaniel and Elizabeth Bonner, it's also a time of reunion as their children return from far-off places: Lily and her husband from Italy, and Martha Kirby, the Bonners ward, from Manhattan. Although Lily is nursing her own grief, it is Martha, fleeing a crushing humiliation, who brings with her trouble that will reverberate in all their lives.

I got lost in this book. It feels like you are sitting beside these women listening to their lives. Thank you for such a wonderful series.

A golden man, he is called Black Royce, a battle-hardened soldier of the gods. His vows are his life, until he is sent to New York City to protect a Healer from those who would use her powers for themselves. The moment Royce sees beautiful, feisty Allie Monroe, he knows she will be his only weakness...and he is right.

I like a good romance sometimes...some books make me think so much I feel exhausted at the end..Brend Joyce does such a great job with romance novels...I have a great deal of her books and love them all..the female is a typical female and I know it will enrage alot of the feminist out there..but I think the point is that he takes care of her. Good book.

    Overall

all the books I have read by this author are missing something. I like them for the most part, they are easy listening, but a little more developing with the romance would have been nice. It always hits you like a truck at the end, you know they are going to get together from common sense, but there is no romance before they do - I am talking of smut..just not even a glance.

Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

"I could have used a sunnier ending.."
    Overall

I know every book cannot be all smiles and joy. This one had a lot of happiness, but a lot of sadness mixed in. I was honestly baffled by the complex nature of his time traveling, but it was one of the most beautiful books I have ever read.

Rich and handsome, the hope of ambitious mothers and despair of his sisters, the Marquis of Alverstoke sees no reason to put himself out for anyone. But when a distant connection applies to him for help, he finds himself far from bored.

connie says: "not run-of-the mill chick lit"
    "Well.."

This was an extremely slow book. I know it is chic lit so it is just easy reading, but the main character is a little oblivious.
