"reader is too fast in his delivery"
Faulkner's language is so complex that it takes a little effort to digest the text. As always he is well worth the effort but the listener needs a slower text reader to really appreciate the complexity of Faulkners language.
yes he did. Just spoken a little fast for me
"done well"
The book was rather like listening to a lawyer or policeman giving evidence at a public hearing. I am glad I bought it although I can not say I enjoyed the experience . I am not a fan of Kafka who I was reminded of while listening to Last Evenings on Earth
Kafka, The Trial . Same style of writing .
Left me neutral. No emotional response.
"caine mutiny was hard to turn off listening to"
Excellent. gripping story and history
The breaking of the cable towing the target. Poor old captain lost the plot
listening is very relaxing.
a real experience of life at sea
