Franklin is a construction worker who says he's tired of women and their demands. Zora is a struggling singer who also claims to have lost interest in romance. But when these hard-shelled survivors cross paths, the outcome is electric and perplexing. Beyond the joy of sex, Franklin and Zora see the possibility of a solid, lasting relationship; the trouble is, they're far from sure of how to get there.

What did you love best about Disappearing Acts?

It had a good story line and was really a good book

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed Terry and Avery narrating the story, made you wonder what was coming next and really made for good listening. It also made you feel like you were actually there standing in the room waiting to see how others were going to react to what was going on.

What does Terry McMillan and Avery Brooks bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Their expression and passion in telling the story, it was just hard to put down, I had to read the book 2 times..

Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, Star Wars films), fresh off the success of his uproarious, Audie-nominated performance of the mock children’s book Go the F**k to Sleep, delivers a swaggering, darkly-humored rendering of Chester Himes’ classic first novel.

Set in the bright lights of daytime television, Satan's Sisters is the story of The Lunch Club – a long-running, popular ladies' talk show in which alliances are forged, careers are made, and bridges are burned. The show's famous red couch is ruled by its esteemed matriarch, Maxine Robinson, the first African-American to become a network news anchor, who maintains a hidden safe of diaries chronicling others' indiscretions for posterity – and leverage as needed.

What would have made Satan's Sisters better?

If you could tell who Star Jones is talking about

What was most disappointing about Star Jones’s story?

Didn't get too far into the book it was just too hard to follow who she was talking about for some one who watches the View everyday the book was not all that from what I read.
