Eighty-nine-year-old Isabelle McAllister has a big favor to ask her hairdresser, Dorrie. She wants the black single mother to drop everything and drive her from Texas to a funeral in Ohio - tomorrow. Dorrie, fleeing problems of her own and curious about Isabelle’s past, agrees, not knowing it will be a journey that changes both their lives. Isabelle confesses that, as a teen in 1930s Kentucky, she fell in love with Robert Prewitt, a would-be doctor and the black son of her family’s housekeeper - in a town where blacks weren’t allowed after dark. The tale of their forbidden relationship and its tragic consequences just might help Dorrie find her own way.

The discovery of a dead infant in an Amish barn shakes Lancaster County to its core. But the police investigation leads to a more shocking disclosure: circumstantial evidence suggests that 18-year-old Katie Fisher, an unmarried Amish woman believed to be the newborn's mother, took the child's life.

Would you try another book from Jodi Picoult and/or Christina Moore and Suzanne Toren ?

I had to give up on this book because I couldn't listen to these narrators any further. I grew up in this area, and found the narration of the Amish characters to be almost insulting. The male Amish characters were made to sound stupid with breaks between almost every word, and the young Katie to be a simpering child! The rest of the female characters like dried out 60 year olds! NO characters were likeable in this book, I'm not sure if it was due to the book itself, or the terrible narrators, but after trying to listen to this book for 4 hours, I couldn't care less what happened to anyone of the characters. I don't understand why anyone would give this audio book the high ratings it looks to have.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Absolutely nothing more from either of these narrators.
