The story line revealed much about life in the Isle of Palms and families who had images to live up to. The author did a fairly good job of defining the characters and building the tension for a resolve. I went into the book with no expectations and was pleasantly entertained and stayed engaged.
Louise Penny has entertained me through several Inspector Gamache books. In this book she takes us through a very tense police situation. It was gripping at times and challenging to put down. If you love her series you'll enjoy this book also. Just know it has more tension and action than previous books.
I fell in love with Inspector Gamache in book one & I have not been dissapointed with any of the books in the series including this one. It takes a different slant - but you'll stay engaged through the end.
I got this book off an editor's list & had no expectations. The story grabbed me along the way and held my interest to the end. Entertaining escape.
The story moved easily and keeps the listener engaged every step of the way. The author leaves no stone unturned. I especially enjoyed the author reading. Great purchase.
