Robert Garland was interesting. He made me want to listen to this obsessively. This is the way I enjoy history. People are more interesting than a string of dates and events. I was glad this series was 24+ hours. I could have listened to more.
Mr Garland is truly passionate about his work. His enthusiasm makes listening a real treat. It is much like having asked a clever friend a question and receiving an most delightful interesting answer. Thank you, Mr Garland. I will listen to this one again. Perhaps again. Mr Garland is a story teller not a lecturer. He made it come alive for me. I thought about it when I was not listening.
I find the canned applause between each lecture trite.
Overall a reasonably good book. The story was interesting good twists and turns in the plot. I would recommend it.
Good Highland story. Phil Gigante is my favorite narrator I've ever heard. I have more than 600 books in my library.
I couldn't liten to it. Didn't like narrator. Didn't like story. Wish I didn't have to come up with 15 words.
Narrator was reading one word at a time in rote. Boring. I asked for a refund. Not a fun listen. Can't believe I actually listened to the end.
Narration is as important as story for an audible book. This one was nice on both parts. (Three more words)
Narrator was good except he made my ears hurt. I had to constantly adjust the volume. His volume increased at the exciting parts. I found this annoying.
But the ending was abrupt and left me thinking Ms Veque ran out of time or words. Too bad as the story was engaging.
The only disappointment was that it was a novella. Suzan leaves me wanting more. Performance was right on. Two words
This story was full. Romantic. Fun. Full of twists and turns. Excellent listen. I have to type seven more words.
