I'm an avid audible book listener. I am a huge fan of supernatural books and like stuff that is scary but well written. I'm from Denver Colorado and I have three sons.

A paradise parish of cobbled streets and timber-framed houses, and a huge, haunted vicarage were not what the Revd Merrily Watkins ever had in mind. Nor had she wanted to walk into a local dispute over a play about a curious 17th century cleric accused of witchcraft, a story that certain old-established families would rather remained in obscurity. But this is Ledwardine, steeped in cider and secrets.

The story was slow and steady. Never got too excited by the story but it held my interest. Really liked characters and would listen to another story by author

The sound of shuffling feet emerges from the woods, followed closely by a low moaning, "brraaaiiinnsss", that sends the girls running and begins an adventure that could only come from the mind of a seven-year-old author.

Where to begin- Zombie stories are my favorite. So needless to say, I've read many. While even though some zombie stories are predictable, I still thoroughly enjoy them. Now Septic Zombie is completely original! A ballerina zombie? How original! Rock star zombie? Brilliant! This young lady ( she's SEVEN ?!?!!!) has talent and she will be on MY watch list.

I was immediately swept into the story. First, the narration was fabulous. His accent(s) are beautiful and his cadence is just mind lulling. I was impressed.
The story is funny at times and charming. Even the "sad" times were done in a way that added a bit of humor as to take any trace of sting away. I did NOT want this book to end.

I read this book long ago and also saw the movie. I will say that this story is so much more I depth than the movie obviously. Do not pass this book up just because you saw the movie. This story was just a very well done story that moves through decades and just sweeps you along. I hated to have it end..

Hig survived the flu that killed everyone he knows. His wife is gone, his friends are dead, he lives in the hangar of a small abandoned airport with his dog, his only neighbor a gun-toting misanthrope. In his 1956 Cessna, Hig flies the perimeter of the airfield or sneaks off to the mountains to fish and to pretend that things are the way they used to be. But when a random transmission somehow beams through his radio, the voice ignites a hope deep inside him that a better life exists beyond the airport.

This is a beautifully written story. You very much get inside the character's head. The very brief "love scene" is important to the story and so beautifully written out. Not crude or graphic in the least. I would absolutely read something written by this author again.

Folksy and fresh, endearing and affecting, Fried Green Here is the now-classic novel of two women in the 1980s; of gray-headed Mrs. Threadgoode telling her life story to Evelyn, who is in the sad slump of middle age. The tale she tells is also of two women - of the irrepressibly daredevilish tomboy Idgie and her friend Ruth - who back in the thirties ran a little place in Whistle Stop, Alabama, a Southern kind of Cafe Wobegon offering good barbecue and good coffee and all kinds of love and laughter, even an occasional murder.

Something terrible has happened in the snowbound village of Kingdom Come, Wyoming, where 12 eerily identical houses stand dark and abandoned. Meals remain untouched on dining room tables, cars are still in garages, and the town's residents have vanished into thin air. This is the disturbing setting where vacationing medical examiner Maura Isles and her traveling companions find themselves trapped during a ferocious snowstorm.

Not so long ago Marcus Walker was just another young commodities trader in Chicago, working hard and playing harder. But that's all in the past, part of a life half forgotten-a reality that vanished when he was attacked while camping and tossed aboard a starship bound for deep space. Desperately, Walker searches for explanations, only to realize he's trapped in a horrifying nightmare that is all too real. Instead of being a rich hotshot at the top of the food chain, Walker discovers he's just another amusing novelty, part of a cargo of “cute” aliens from primitive planets....

Deborah Harkness has crafted a gripping journey through a world of alchemy, time travel, and magical discoveries.

Good follow up to Discovery of Witches. Reading Discovery obviously is a must prior to this story. I didn't like it quite as much as the first book but enjoyed it. The writing is fabulous and the story is well mapped. Narration top knotch. A little too much "romance" for my taste which is why I think it wasn't as good to me as the first.
    Get the series!
